It really looked fake to me. I suspect we’ll find out one way or the other.
The dog seemed too still.
One of the fakest things I’ve ever seen, ever. If you really think this is real, you should get acquainted with reality. This is almost as bad as the “little girl on ecstasy” video from a while back.
Yeah… it did look fake as it spun after he threw it - no limbs, just an oblong puppy-colored object.
I hope it was fake.
Dead dogs do. Just sayin’.
I hope it’s fake as well. The yelping could easily be faked by one of the humans.
To me it looks weird when it is flying through the air. Is it possible that the puppy is already dead?
The dog doesn’t seem to squirm at all. It doesn’t make any sound while it’s being held. After the throw the yapping sound (which also seems more human than canine) doesn’t seem to lessen as the dog recedes into the distance. To me this adds up to fake.
There’s no video yet, but I hear another U.S. soldier killed a human being in Iraq. It might just be a rumor.
If it was real, I do not think the sound of the yelping would be so uniform. I would think it would trail off and change pitch.
I saw a photo. The teeth looked fake to me.
Must’ve been a British soldier, then.
If it’s a human making the noise-- perhaps another soldier behind the cameraman?-- then the sound wouldn’t recede in the distance, because what is creating it is not traveling.
Also, the soldier was holding the dog by the scruff of the neck, and I’ve noticed that baby animals carried this way tend to go quiet and still. So it doesn’t mean much to me that the dog was as still as it was.
So, you don’t think the fact that Ted Kaczynski is a Harvard graduate is at all relevent or interesting? Because I definitly find it to be both of those things.
Looked fake to me as well…and I think that sound could easily be mimicked by anyone with a clue as to how sound works.
Even if it IS faked it doesn’t exactly say much about the idiot who did it. I assume it’s been confirmed that this guy is in fact a lance corporal in the Marines (that’s what his rank insignia looked like to me in the video but it was hard to say)?

Let’s assume it’s fake. For the sake of the puppy, I hope it is.
Why in the blue bloody hell would anyone want to make it look like you’re throwing a puppy off a cliff? What sick twisted mind thinks that’s funny?
Fake or not, I would want to be one of those Marines when their CO and gunny find them.
shudder I hear that. Too right…and these bozo’s deserve everything they are going to get. For that matter I’m guessing their squad mates are going to have a few things to say to them as well some dark night. I’m guessing someone is going to slip on a bar of soap…

Visual Effects guy checking in.
No, doesn´t look fake; and if, it is those people have a job waiting for them.
A) It´s not a stuffed toy dog, as said, toy dogs don´t look and react exactly like the real thing.
B) I´m quite sure the dog is not dead, if death it would be either limp or stiff from rigor mortis. If limp it wouldn´t be holding the legs in like that, and if stiff it would be “frozen” on its death pose which I can´t see how it could be the same as the one is in. When the piece of shit swings it you can see the limbs react to the force, in my opinion just the way they should with a live puppy, not limp neither stiff.
C) The sound of the yelping, it sounds just like a terrified puppy, and it does fade with the distante, however, I think there´s a slight time delay with the audio; look at the second piece of shit when he says “so cute…”, pay attention at the lips when they move for the “S” sound, it happens a little after you hear it.
It´s real all right.
Oh, and someone said that the tumbling through the air of the puppy didn´t look realistic. What did you expect? that the dog did a spread eagle like a skydiver?
The animal is going to tuck in his legs in sheer terror, just as it was doing before beigh tossed over the cliff, and of course it`s going to tumble and spin all the way down from being swinged like that.
I assume you left out the word “not” between “would” and want?"
