Marmite and Twiglets

Marmite - you either love it or you hate it.

I hate it. I hate the colour of it, the smell of it, the texture of it and the taste of this yeast extract, shit coloured paste. However, some of my friends can’t get enough of it. They have it on toast in the mornings, in sandwiches and as a snack when they come home. I can’t understand it.

Twiglets - a knobbly, possibly potato based snack. Sometimes used as nibbly things for parties.Also contains yeast extract. I actually like these and can eat them in small doses despite the similarity in taste to Marmite(vile crap)

So Marmite and Twiglets, spawn of the devil or gourmet delight?

Never heard of marmite. I’ve only hear of twiglets on the British edition of “Whose Line is it anyway?” Are these British things? What are they, really?

nadin, you are clearly an anti-human, as Twiglets are vile, and Marmite is heaven on earth.

Marmite is not as good as vegemite (or promite for that matter) but it is okay. I like twiglets in very small doses, but there are better salty appetizers like olives stuffed with anchovies. What are twiglets like? They’re like hard mis-shapen pretzels with a salty, yeasty tang.

I agree with picmr. Vegemite is better than Marmite.

I’m fairly indifferent to marmite and twiglets. But I can contribute the wisdom that with a dab of marmite on your finger, you can lead a cat anywhere :slight_smile:

I had a nanny from England once and she had a constant supply of Marmite…that stuff is nasty!!! I remember once she broke a jar and my whole family cheered (because it smells bad too!)
