Fine, I suck. You all say that… I suck. And while Mikie Sherill has never done anything for me personally ( and I have asked and for good reason ) I know that Jack Shitterelli is one of the single most terrible (semi?) human beings that draws breath in NJ.
I know that this isn’t “Mikie”… but I know that she’d be up and running against ICE if only she had this.

I had to look up names in Google to figure out that the comment was about the NJ governor’s race. Not everyone lives in the same area, so context helps.
I’m still not sure what the fuck that has to do with martial law.

Who would have suspected the felon’s goons of breaking the law while they’re breaking the law?
CHICAGO (Reuters) -A top U.S. Border Patrol official violated a court order limiting the use of tear gas during demonstrations against the Trump administration’s immigration crackdown in Chicago, a group of protesters, journalists and clergy members told a U.S. judge on Thursday.
The group said in a court filing that Gregory Bovino, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection commander overseeing the federal enforcement effort in Chicago, deployed tear gas in violation of the judge’s order during a standoff in a neighborhood known for being home to many Mexican immigrants.
They attached photos and a link to a Facebook video that appears to show Bovino throwing tear gas at a group of protesters without giving the required warning.
I believe this is called the Bang! Stop or I’ll shoot method of law enforcement

Military occupation of Portland prohibited by federal court!
The full 9th Circuit Court of Appeals voted Tuesday night to vacate a panel’s decision allowing the National Guard to deploy to Portland, and will rehear the case.
A “majority of nonrecused active judges” voted to vacate and rehear, per a brief order. A Circuit judge had requested the vote soon after a panel — composed of two Trump appointees and one Clinton appointee — last week blocked a lower court order protecting Portland from the deployment. In a scorching dissent from that ruling, Judge Susan Graber, the Clinton appointee, had asked her colleagues on the 9th Circuit to vacate the majority opinion.
“I urge my colleagues on this court to act swiftly to vacate the majority’s order before the illegal deployment of troops under false pretenses can occur,” she wrote. “Above all, I ask those who are watching this case unfold to retain faith in our judicial system for just a little longer.”

Bovino has to report to U.S. District Judge Sara Ellis every day and write on the chalkboard “Kids dressed in Halloween costumes walking to a parade do not pose an immediate threat to the safety of a law enforcement officer”

The Economist loves to end serious articles with a bit of snark.
From their coverage of this:
The government view of all this activity is that it is illegitimate, violent interference. Kristi Noem, the DHS secretary, wrote in the Wall Street Journal that organisers are “terrorists, gang members and rioters” (perhaps the children’s Halloween costumes were too convincing).

Too convincing? Maybe, maybe not. But definitely better than hers.
“I’m a police lady for Halloween!”
I’m picturing a lawn decoration. It’s a 12 foot grim reaper dangling a skull. The skull has long orange hair and a long, red dangling necktie.

23,500 National Guard troops are being readied for deployment anywhere in the US where there might be civil disturbances. According to the article, even Guam gets 100 troops! Fucking Guam!
This force is supposed to be ready by “early next year”. Hmmm, I wonder what is going on next year where there might be some protests?

That’s too many people, they might capsize the island.
And I lived on Guam. People there don’t give a shit. It’s too hot to protest.

Not to mention isn’t the island pretty well occupied by the militaryto begin with?
A reasonable amount, that’s why I was there after all.
I don’t think the Navy is usually engaged in civilian peacekeeping efforts, but who cares about rules anymore. Rules are for suckers.

Two members of the military force occupying Washington have been shot.
WASHINGTON (AP) — Two West Virginia National Guard members who deployed to the nation’s capital were shot Wednesday afternoon just blocks from the White House in a brazen act of violence that the mayor described as a targeted attack.
FBI Director Kash Patel and Washington Mayor Muriel Bowser said they were hospitalized in critical condition.
The rare shooting of National Guard members, on the day before Thanksgiving, comes as the presence of the troops in the nation’s capital and other cities around the country has been a flashpoint issue for months, fueling court fights and a broader public policy debate about the Trump administration’s use of the military to combat what officials cast as an out-of-control crime problem.
A suspect who was in custody also was shot and had wounds that were not believed to be life-threatening, according to a law enforcement official who was not authorized to discuss the matter publicly and spoke to AP on condition of anonymity.
The 29-year-old suspect, an Afghan national, entered the U.S. in 2021 through Operation Allies Welcome, a Biden administration program that evacuated and resettled tens of thousands of Afghans after the U.S. withdrawal from the country, officials said.
And in response, the felon-in-chief has decided every Afghan refugee need to go through the ringer again.
Wednesday night, in a video message released on social media, President Donald Trump called for the reinvestigation of all Afghan refugees who entered under the Biden administration.
“If they can’t love our country, we don’t want them,” he said, adding that the shooting was “a crime against our entire nation.”
And, of course, applying the bigger hammer theory.
The Trump administration quickly ordered 500 more National Guard members to Washington. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said Trump asked him to send the troops.
Nearly 2,200 troops currently are assigned to the joint task force operating in the city, according to the government’s latest update.
And how does this address the shooter’s motive? Unknown, just as the motive is.
