Mary Mary, quite contrary, a garden MMP

Yup.

Made good progress on my desk area last night. There’s just one strip of desk that still has stuff, plus four or five things to unpack. (I have too much shit). I’m trying to figure out where I’m going to store bins until I can redo the closet and put the stuff that’s loose or in bags into bins.

Also wrote about 10 pages for the porn story (pages with no sex, unless you count someone peeing against a tree, and if you do, DUDE, I didn’t need to know that! I’ll be adding some porn to the beginning though.) And I figured out some complications for the comic script I’m working on, so hopefully it’ll start not being so hard to write.

Filbert, do you have pictures? I wanna see axolotls! Are they hard to take care of?

Oh, and had another spider related near heart attack this morning. I went back to the bathroom for something, and climbing up a strand of web in the sink, where I had been standing not two minutes before was a big blackish-brown spider. I thought at first it was a black widow (because that’s where my mind heads first), but I don’t think it was. In any case, it’s in the vacuum now. And there’s another daddy long legs in the corner of the dining area, but it can stay there for right now.

Well howdy all, sorry to be away but this rock and roll life nearly did me in

Love all the garden pics as I have the penultimate black thumb,

SPAZGlad to see the new place is going well, even your posts seem more relaxed

Have much more to say but caffeine and x-word take priority for the moment

That is all for now

JIM

BTW I am wearing pants:D

I have returned from the wilds of California and Leonardtown with 15 pavers, 2 bags of sand, 6 hydrangeas, some plant food, and an assortment of grocery items. We’re having poke for supper - it’s slow-cooking in the oven right now.

I think I’m going to change into grungies and plant my hydrangeas. Beyond that, I have no plans. I don’t need plans. I’m retired.

Speaking of having nothing but time on your hands, doesn’t thislook like a great cruise?? I can dream… but now I’m off to get grubby.

Shiny, 2 of my tiddlers just went in their new tank today, so I did take a few pics of them: it’s bare apart from a few rocks at the moment, as they sometimes eat gravel (babies especially can just try eat everything), so there’s reflections all over the place. There are only two in there, honest!
Babies!
Password is my username, all lowercase. The ones I’m swapping for should look more like this.

Well, that was fun. I looked out and saw it was starting to rain, so I rushed to the yard to take all the clothes off the line. Naturally, just as I finished, it seemed to stop raining… Too late, it’s all going into the dryer now. Stoopit weather.

Dishes are washing, so there’s that.

D’aaaahhh. So cute.

(my bold)
So, who has the last black thumb?

This guy?

The continuing sad tale of my attempt to finish my damn degree continues. First I was placed on academic probation, which I expected. Then I was threatened with the revocation of my financial aid. I have until the 15th to appeal. Well, I just got back from dropping that off. Had to get my records from the Neurologist and a letter from the school infirmary and then add my own statement. The school doc thinks I’ll have no trouble keeping my financial aid but I just have to wait for about 2 weeks to find out.
I’m wearing pants!!! Specifically, I’m wearing Sweetie’s pants!!! The last time I fit into his pants, I was 19, he was 26, and we were both a lot skinnier. The last time I fit into the size he currently wears (38" waist) was 3 years ago, before losing my very physical factory job. I haven’t been trying to lose weight because of my hip issues but apparently it’s happening anyway. Two months ago I couldn’t even get his pants over my butt.
Mother Nature played a mean trick on me today by starting a cloud burst when I was 3 miles from home and then stopping it when I got home. Of course I had the top down.
Now the sky is blue so I should go mow the lawn but I’m cold and damp and irritable so I don’t want to.

The 4 kittens that were abandoned at the clinic last week have been taken by their new foster mother. The doc was happy they were going. Then she walked outside and was adopted by a stray cat, right outside the clinic door. Now that new stray is in the kennel area while we try to find out where it came from (it doesn’t seem like a stray, more like a lost). She just can’t win. It looks like June will be the month of the cats for the clinic.

Exactly, you beat me to it:smack:

Adventures in grocery shopping this morning! LOL Seriously, it’s an adventure every time I go grocery shopping. Here, the first Wednesday of the month is senior discount day - if you’re over 55, you get a 10% discount on your groceries! (This is at Albertson’s, for anyone familiar with the grocery chains in the southwest/west.) They also have meat specials “buy one, get one (same price or lower) for free” - I got some good pork that way, paying $5.40 for one package and getting two. I also got a pork roast that I’m almost certain someone in the meat department had mis-labeled, because it was less than $6  I also got some beef short ribs that I’ve got a slow cooker recipe for and now I can try it out. I still am considering making most of my grocery purchases at Walmart, since I’ve had a chance to check out their grocery store section - I was mucho impressed with the fresh produce and the bakery department as well. We’ll be trying out the corned beef that I got for $6 (maybe that same person at Albertson’s used to work at Walmart … LOL) tomorrow.

Tomorrw it’s (hopefully) back to the pool, first thing in the morning. I want to get back indoors before it gets too hot out, also if there are any storms that might possibly (Og please!) roll through, they’ll come in the afternoon. LOL Seriously, we finally got a thunder storm on Monday that was a whole lot of noise but not much rain. But what rain there was, was a bit of hail! Mostly the weather has been good, just very warm and DRY. Yes, I’m still enjoying the dry heat.

I love hydrangeas! Hope your plants turn out well, FCM; they do seem to like being as near to water as possible, btw.

Hope everyone is enjoying the mid-week, and gearing up for the weekend - the Belmont is Saturday, and we’ll see if the near impossible can happen again. Crossing my fingers!!!

Howdy Y’all! Home and tahrd. I did a poke roast in the slow cooker overnight so all I had to do was heat it up, cook some rice and steam some green beans for dindin. An easy and tasty meal. In a bit I shall head out for Evenin’ Prayer over to the church house. OYKW ate then left cause he’s got paperirk stuff to finish up, poor thing.

That’s about all from swampland. Irk lived up to its name and promises to keep it up. Tomorrow I get to travel what I call the south forty. Rah. Seriously I will be in counties along the Flahrduh border and then west to the Alabammy border. Ugh.

Laterz!

We had an early supper - poke, italian pole beans, whomp biscuits, cuke salad, and N.O.T. salad. **FCD **is doing the dishes and I’m about to assume the crochet position. I got a lot done today - laundry, dishes, vacuuming, and erranding. And we’re over the hump for the week!

BooFae - it’s never too early for a blurf

Nuts - I just can’t get excited about baby fish that look like they’re going to grow up into 1960s Japanese horror film monsters

The company had a Health Fair today (reps from all the insurance cos, healthy beverage vendors, Whole Foods with trays of veggies and hummus) BP screening - but mine has been pretty constant for the last several years so I passed on that
There were also raffles - a fancy bicycle, a driveway basketball hoop & stand, high end tennis racquets and two-toned tennis balls, something else I can’t recall; I won “the yoga package” which includes a yoga mat, big floor ball and some smaller ones, a couple of hand weights (yay), and one of these. Double YAYAY

So folks, what happens when your 12yr old relationship goes belly up? What happens next?

Well you get up, dust off your knees and amble along, sorry to hear about it but such is life. It is really hard to start again but start you must because the alternatives are grim. Again sorry I feel for you

JIM

I’m sorry to read that, BooFae. I guess all you can do is keep on “keepin’ on”; hard as that may be for the first bit of time.

You’re in my thoughts.

Thanks, Cap’n, you are quite right and that is what I will be doing. I just need someone to give me a hand with the packing!

Cheers, Taters, it will be tough but I have to sort myself out somehow after tonight’s happenings.

Oh. :frowning:

You cry.

You get angry.

You wake up and pretend you’re ok, until you are.
