I don’t believe it because no one would appear on an anonymous message board seeking advice with respect to some douche in a Cobalt, and thereafter string along the board with the “shall I fuck him or not” shtick. That thread is a bit like mud wrestling a pig. However, in this case, both the pig and I are enjoying it. So I guess I should stick up for the poor trainwreck, and come to its defense.

Yeah I don’t see what the problem is really. It’s a semi-fun thread. I actually think the whiners and thread shitters are the ones that are making it boring. If it’s a troll, why feed it? If you don’t enjoy it, why read it?

I know I’ve asterisked it for my reading pleasure. The “wants to know if I take it up the @ss” text msg subplot was a bit over the top, but I’ve seen much more ridiculous developments on the Telly. I await the outcum with baited breath.
Besides, right now that thread is in a reasonably good place, emotionally. I’m certainly not feeling the raging frustration, the vague desire to shoot myself, or the hatred of humanity that I usually do when I wade into one of those muck puddles. Neither do I really feel that the thread’s OP is a banning waiting to happen with the countdown already started, the way I have about some other posters.
As of right now, we’re all singing Kumbaya together in the sauna. Although I guess that could be subject to change.
As for the veracity of the story, I’m a bit beyond caring one way or the other. YMMV.

I think it’s a troll, but it’s a fun read. I pointed it out in the thread because I’m trying to gently guide the troll back on track, let it know where it went over the top so it can dial back on the unbelievable stuff. I don’t want it to flame out too quickly.
Cheap yuks, definitely. Fat and sweaty, all signs point to yes. Cigar chompin’? Maybe, but store-brand cheese puffs—or whatever mommy keeps stocked—is a far safer bet.
But cabbie? If you think these trolls have actual jobs, you’re out of your gourd. I’m guessing “Mary’s” only income is a disability check for ADHD, Chronic Persistent Basement Syndrome, Adult Onset Employment-Responsibility Anxiety, or the like.
I’m also grateful to that thread for giving me a chance to use the phrase “steaming first date of lube-aided freaky anal” in a reasonably serious posts. That happens way too rarely in, say, GQ.
Huh. I just don’t see it. Not saying that the poster is NOT a cigar chomping whatever, I just don’t think the scenario in the thread is unlikely. In fact I think it is pretty mundane. Someone got a phone number and is now thinking about whether to go on a date, and for some reason wants to talk about it on the internet. Big deal. Isn’t that pretty much a basic function of the internet, to talk about boring stuff in your life with random strangers?
The only things that confuses me is the amount of vitriol coming his/her way. The way I see it there are two options.
#1 She is who she says she is, and in that case a lot of people are being complete cunts to a random person. That’s not very cool.
#2 She’s a troll, and in that case people seem to be totally over reacting to what seems to be a pretty benign and semi-entertaining thread.
What’s the upside of being an asshole or starting a Pit Thread?
