MASH Trivia

And another: When Harry Morgan made his first appearance, playing Major General Steele, what was the song he sang at the court martial when he finally went completely insane?

(Trivia about that episode: Gary Burghoff and Alan Alda have both said that Morgan’s comic timing in that episode necessitated several takes because nobody could keep a straight face around him; they were used to him from Dragnet and other character roles but had never seen him do comedy and it cracked everybody up.)

He had a copy of Reader’s Digest, which, according to Flagg, if you removed the aer, leaves you with “Red’s Digest.”

He wasn’t on the pole in the fur coat. The pole was a different scheme (which turned into the record I asked about).

Not sure if “Mississippi Mud” is the actual title, but that’s what I’m going with.

Well, the first thing that comes to mind is that there was an early episode where her father was dead:

In a later episode, her father (“Howitzer” Houlihan) visited the camp.

GB1: What was Rizzo’s wife’s name?

GB2: Rizzo ate something that isn’t found on the USDA food pyramid. What was it?

GB3: Where was Rizzo from? (I don’t know the answer to this one. I’m just curious. I like Rizzo.)

Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Yep, that’s what I was going for.
I don’t remember the name of Rizzo’s wife, but I do remember that his son was named “Billy Bubba”.

That’s it (and that is the title).

Charles married someone in Tokyo. What was her name and who performed the ceremony?

When Charles un-married her, what did Margaret carry at the un-wedding?

Which nurse won the gurney race?

Who won the MASH Olympics, and how?

According to BJ, why couldn’t Hawkeye marry Colonel Potter’s wife?

When Hawkeye spoke French, what did he mean to say, and what did he actually say?

I’m thinking “Bouncing Betty” by a…by a…

GB1: What was Rizzo’s wife’s name?

Zola?

Because then she’d be Mildred Pierce (which is the name of a movie).

Je suis pullet a la poetry. (I am a chicken.)

Tdr1: What did Potter dream?

Tdr2: What did Klinger dream?

He was dreaming about riding horses on his childhood home (though it was in Korea in the dream) and heard his mother calling him. When he woke up he made a comment similar to “I thought I was finally going to have one of her biscuits again.”

Klinger is outside a diner in Toledo and looks in the window to see Potter and nurses operating on somebody. The patient being operated turns his head and it’s Klinger.

I remember watching that episode when it first came out. I was surprised that there weren’t more accusations of “blasphemy” for Mulcahy’s dream (the Crucifix). My mother made a comment about Margaret’s dream that I thought was good but I’m not sure if it was intentional on the part of the writers: she was in a wedding gown tending soldiers, getting it progressively bloodier. When the camera pulled away her wedding gown was soaked in blood at the abdomen. My mother made the comment “It’s like she’s sympathizing with the mothers of the soldiers who felt like the war had ripped their babies from their stomach.” A bit crude and heavy handed, but still interesting.

Forgot to mention- the reason I said Potter’s birthplace farm was in Korea in the dream was because he was playing polo with grenades and landmines.

Good call. They usually cut this part out (and Klinger’s entire dream) in the reruns.

Klinger had to wear a rubber reducing suit for a specified period of time, I think it was 48 hours. He missed it by one hour and got in the tub with Hot Lips.

Dad was dead and the money he left went toward drying out Mom and her legal fees (she was a klepto when sober). Later on, Dad alive but divorced and the two got back together for the big party for the 4077[sup]th[/sup]'s relatives.

The overweight sergeant won (name?) because Penobscott backed into a camouflage net.

Later, he propositioned her. Easy cheesy trivia question: Did she say yes?

Tfb1: What did Frank offer the auction goers?

Tfb2: What did Hawkeye teach the auction goers to say?

Tfb3: Hawkeye won the auction. What did he buy, and how did he explain his purchase to BJ?

One of the earlier Swamp dwellers had a nickname that would be considered racist today. Name the character and his nickname.

Ugly John is racist?

Spearchucker, for the way he threw a football.
