Frank refused to be the third doctor to sign Klinger’s Section-8 certification papers, so Klinger took back his hair dryer from Nurse Murphy who refused to date Radar who took back the cake from Frank’s birthday party prompting Hot Lips to go ahead with sending a report to Gen Hammond so Col BLake ripped up the dentist’s three day pass so he refused to do Zale’s bridgework so Zale refused to order Hawkeye’s boots. Simple, no?
They actually did get the tomato juice. First, Radar convinced Col Potter to sign a three-day pass to get Klinger some RnR so Klinger gave away a pair of nylons which they gave to Frank so he could give them to Hot Lips. However, Frank reneged when Hot Lips agreed to go to a party being thrown by some general. But they convinced Hot Lips to stay by forging a marriage proposal in Frank’s name (and sent Klinger in drag in Hot Lips’ place). Radar caught Frank in a good mood and got him to sign the requisition for the tomato juice. Of course, they then found out that Col Potter, on whose behalf they’d been doing this, is allergic to tomato juice.
Answering my own question above, the lead-in sitcom that premiered the same night as MASH (and that was expected to be the hit while MASH floundered) was Anna and the King, a sitcom based on The King and I and starring Yul Brynner. His precocious daughter was played by Rosalind Chao, who later played Mrs. Klinger in the last episode of MASH and in AfterMAS*H (which was seen by about three more viewers than saw Anna and the King).
Why did Hawkeye end up with two Navy surgeons suddenly appearing at camp?
What was the final answer to the problem which started the whole thing?
The winning poker hand was actually four Tens. The company slogan was “If your shoes aren’t becoming to you, you should be coming to us.”
Three records were set in the course of the series. What were they and who set them (for one I’ll accept the idea man)?
How did Father Mulcahey say he worked his way through seminary?
What’s the name of the ping-pong playing cat?
What convinced Colonel Flagg that Frank was a Communist, and why?

Why did Charles get transferred from Tokyo to the MASH?
Where did they order the bathtub from?
I never did understand that. He kept saying he needed one more word. But on a crossword, you would actually need two more words, because if you’ve filled in all the letters in the vertical clues, by default, everything is filled in horizontally as well.
Incorrect.
He won a bunch of money from his commanding officer and was rubbing it in just as the call came in for a replacement surgeon.
Sears catalog?
Nope, unless I’m remembering it wrong. Think sexy ads.
Right, Sears catalog.
The bathtub was ordered from Abercrombie & Fitch.
Whoops, I wasn’t finished. The stuff from Sears was ordered during the year-long episode. That included the fake fireplace, the parkas, Father Mulcahey’s seeds, Houlihan’s knitting stuff and Klinger’s baseball stuff.
Correct.
Charles nearly caused a riot at the unit because he was hoarding something. What was he hoarding?
Newspapers in one episode, and soda water in another.
“If you’re Adolphe Menjou”
Potter once told Klinger if he could do one thing, it would prove he was crazy and he would give him a section 8 discharge. What was that thing and why didn’t Klinger succeed?
He had to remain on a pole wearing a fur coat during a heat wave for a set period of time (I don’t remember how long). He broke with only a few minutes to go and jumped into the bathtub while Margaret was bathing.
In an early episode Margaret made a comment about her family background that was contradicted by a later episode (in which it was a major plotpoint, with no mention of the contradiction). What was it?
