I guess I can just use Unicode if I want to discuss πΈ πΌ π π β πΌ π π β π. But itβs not quite the same.
Itβs the only currently available option, however, so thereβs a 0% chance it wonβt be used when posters think color and/or fonts are appropriate.
We were always very sparing with its use on our old software, even though the option was front-and-center. Thus I donβt expect such use to become a problem. (Same as I said about animated GIFs*)
Ultimately, itβs just LaTEX, and of course a lot of people here know how to use that.
* It still would be nice to add an option to prevent animated GIFs from autoplaying. But I presume that would require hosing a preview image.
Folks around here donβt tend to pay much attention to what something is meant to be used for, being rather more interested in what it can be used for. Not that most of us will use things just because we can, but sometimes thereβs a real practical use.
