The budget impasse is good news for Gaetz because now Congress is in session for longer and that delays release. If the vote had passed yesterday, we would have gotten the news today. Maybe they’ll pass a bill today but I don’t think that’s likely.
Hopefully they get a deal done on the budget by Monday. Release of the report would be a lovely Christmas present Gaetz.
Why is releasing the report tied up with the budget? Why not do both?
Releasing the report will happen when Congress is closed for the year and that won’t happen until they finish the budget.

Although… remember “Pro Forma Sessions”, the procedural trick to prevent recess appointments? The 118th Congress technically has not adjourned for the term. So ISTM strictly speaking saying it will be released before the end of the term and after the last day of votes could mean they can release it as soon as tomorrow… or at any later date in the month.
Yeah. I was wondering about that. When I read about it, I interpreted it as once they all go home with the exception of the person forced to hang out for that reason but you could certainly be correct.
