Thank God. The senators he spoke to must have told him there was no way he would be confirmed.
What’s even better is that this means the attention can now be squarely focused on Trump’ s equally odious choices for his cabinet: namely Pete Hegseth, Tulsi Gabbard, and RFK Jr.
Unless of course Trump nominates someone even worse than Gaetz for AG, like Rudy Giuliani.

It’ll be interesting to see if he’s going to try to get his old job back. I imagine the ethics committee still has their report on file.
It is not good news until the replacement is named. And it might be that he was originally picked to make the real pick look good in comparison.

He was re-elected for the next term. I don’t know what either the House rules or Florida’s rules are on this situation. I can’t remember ever coming up before.
I can imagine him saying that he will serve his new term and dare Mike Johnson to do anything about it, even if the Ethics Committee report comes out.
