I don’t know what his wife’s cultural background is, but there are many places where having a fat husband is a mark of pride - it means you’re feeding him well, and also that he’s not staying thin to attract other women.
He has money, he can be as fat as he likes (for a variable definition of “attract”).
And fat Americans usually don’t eat that well, either. I’m just noting certain cultural factors.

I have not been able to even look at this creature until now.
I think Gaetz first displayed his new appearance at the Republican National Convention over the summer and he got laughed at it for it then as well. I have no idea why people change their appearance like that and don’t anticipate that people are going to find it funny. I mean, some minor cosmetic procedures can improve one’s appearance while still being subtle enough not to stand out too much but not what he did.

A name like “Ginger Luckey” does not suggest some exotic foreign culture. What it suggests – probably correctly – is the culture of “white trash”. Which in the cultural sense has nothing to do with money, but with lack of integrity, lack of taste and refinement, lack of compassion, and mean-spirited selfishness. Trump himself is a perfect example of cultural white trash. Matt Gaetz is a caricature of it.

Well, I took my Dopername from the character in the Book and the movie. I think I hoped some of Rex Reason’s good looks and deep voice would rub off on me (he had both until he died a couple of years ago), but it didnt work out that way.

So DeSantis won’t be leaving the FL mansion until after the 2026 election–giving Matt time to put the bad publicity behind him.)
