I’ve been seeing a lot of the commercial with Matthew McConaughey for the Lincoln MKC:
It's so...weird. Like he has lost his mind. He just drives around all night, not going anywhere. Talking to himself.You’d swear at first glance that he never blinks in the whole commercial.
I think I’m the right target audience for the car, but that campaign doesn’t make me want to rush out and get one. It does make me want to do speed and stay up all night.
Most people have no idea what commercials make them want to do.
Regarding this commercial, looks like it’s aimed at early midlife crisis men. I suspect it’s effective, but who knows unless we go actually looking at who ends up buying the car.

What makes you think that? Not that I terribly doubt it but I’d like to know what cues you use.
I figured it was post-midlife crisis men. They need a comfy car, that costs a lot. Got to impress everyone while still being able to get in and out of the car.
As for your first part, the only thing the ad tells me is that the car exists. I wouldn’t buy one, or not buy one, just because of the ad.
Oh wow! I have never seen TD, but that scene is exactly how I see his mind in the commercial!
It can’t be a coincidence, unless MM has botoxed his entire face and that’s the only exprtession he has now.
