May 4, 2003 Tornados in MidWest US

Hang in there, Bosda.

Um…I’m sorry we sent this crap your way. ::looks sheepish::

The tornado that formed right over our heads later leveled a bait shop in the tiny town of Eudora. Not as bad as Sunday, but bad enough for those poor folks.

We had part of a tree land on on of our houses here in Greenfield yesterday, but no damage was done to the house.

Another nasty batch of weather will blanket the Ozarks tomorrow.:frowning: I’ve talked to elderly people who have lived here all their lives that say this is the worst spring storm season they can recall.

Good luck Tenn. dopers.

–Kris

I saw on the news that over 180 tornados touched down in Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, and Tennessee.

Everythings fine here, the storms were a fair distance from us. We did get some small but severe thunderstorms, though.

KC did get clobbered but not down where we live. In fact, we didn’t know about the weather until my mom called us to make sure we were ok.

On a slightly “whew” note, we were supposed to be golfing in Bonner Springs when the tornados were doing their thing. We’d cancelled because the future Mr. C had tweaked his back the day before.

UPDATE—
go to

look through the sidebar on the left, until you find the “North Sky Cam” link, near the top.

It should be showing the Tennessee River.

On Sunday, that area was Riverfront Park, & a major concert event, Riverstages, was being held there.

Today, it is submerged.

Our sirens just went off.

But, according to Gary England, it’s all south of here. Visibility is pretty poor. A major gust of wind and rain just pounded into me here (NW OKC), but It’s really bad SW around Portland and I-44.

Lights are flickering, so I think I’ll get out the portable radio.

I’m alright here, but would the OKC Dopers check in tonight? Just in case? (I don’t know where they live, it’s a big city)

I’ll update when I find out anything.

Large tornado on the ground between Del City & Moore. SE OKC
Heavily populated area

Seriously guys, please check in

(Another storm just south of here)

Where is “here”? You put a cute answer in your Location, & we don’t know where you are.

Oklahoma City

Sorry, I didn’t even think about my “Location.”

Hey, I’m ok…I live in SW OKC, just west of Moore. My internet connection just came back on. I wanted to make sure everyone was OK too. There’s a lot of damage several miles east of me, just like 4 years ago :frowning: My dad was working at Tinker, and I was scared out of my mind because the phone lines weren’t working at all, but he’s fine. He managed to come home after the storm passed to make sure we were alright.

Please, other OKC dopers need to check in and let everyone know they’re not hurt or anything.

Again, if anyone needs help, let me know.

Take care.
