I find your lack of faith disturbing
NO-OOOOOOOOOO! x
I see there is a thread on this in Cafe Society - dang it.
The fourth is not strong in this one.
Are you unfamiliar with the 1977 motion picture “Star Wars”? It gave us the catchphrase “may the Force be with you”…?
No?
Help me Cat Whisperer, you’re our only hope!
I never heard of it before yesterday, but I get the pun. In the US, anyway, since we typically put the month first, today is May the 4th, which leads quite naturally into “May the Fourth be with you.”
I’m so disappointed I didn’t think about this this morning when getting dressed. It would have been a perfect excuse to wear my favorite shirt to work.
It took me five minutes to explain this day to my eighth graders. I weep for the future of humanity.
I don’t remember so much lisping in the Star Wars movies.
The 4th will be with you…always…
Merging two threads about this.
Happy Star Wars Day.
“For a thousand generations John Williams was the guardian of peace and justice in the Boston Pops Orchestra. Before the dark times. Before the Empire.”
Shouldn’t the merged thread be in Cafe Society where discussions about movies are supposed to go?
I ate supper at a Chinese restaurant tonight. My fortune said, “Do or do not. There is no try.” How cool is that?
Well, I’ve been around, but I ain’t never seen
A guy who looks like a muppet, but he’s wrinkled and green,
Oh my Yoda, Yo-Yo-Yo-Yo-Yoda…
I’m not Cal, but I suspect he’s asking, when did the anniversary of the original release of “A New Hope,” or whatever they’re calling it these days, become an event in and of itself?
Besides, May 4 has other connotations, for those of us whose memories extend seven years further back:
Tin soldiers and Nixon’s coming
We’re finally on our own
This summer I hear the drumming
Four dead in Ohio.
I saw a Wookiee with a Chinese menu in his hand
Walking through the streets of Soho in the rain.
He was looking for a place called Lee Ho Fook’s.
Gonna get a big dish of beef chow mein.
Aaoooooo!
Wookiees of London!
Aaoooooo!
Yes. I thought that’s where it went. Merging is tricky, apparently. I’ll move it now.
I’d like to meet his tailor.
