Mitch McConnell says he has no health concerns after photos show bruising
Questions raised about pictures showing severe bruising on his hands and some around his mouth
I was wondering how McConnell got together with Keiko O’Brien
He has obviously been wringing his hands with anxiety in his determined struggle to find the best course of action to protect the integrity of the democratic process and maintain the separation of powers, safeguard basic human rights for all Americans, and ensure universal access to adequate healthcare.

I guess that explains the bruises: Miles found out.
Getting multiple IVs is generally reserved for major trauma where fluids and blood need to be rapidly given. You don’t need any IVs to get bruising if the blood thinner medication needs to be adjusted. Presumably, McConnell took a tumble. He does not look like a Fight Club guy but I am often wrong about things.
I laughed.

:swoon:
What (heavy pronunciation on the ‘h’) a man !
…
I was also wondering if dramatically clutching his pearls could burst a crap-ton of capillaries…
To be fair to Mitch, he suffered from polio as a child, and currently exhibits physical limitations requiring assistance. It is debatable whether his health issues should be part of the public discussion in an election year. It would not be out of character for him to downplay anything to continue to appear capable.
To be NOT fair, I can only pray that this might move the needle for a few voters.

I had my appendix taken out last month, and they put an IV in each arm. Does appendicitis count as “major trauma?”
I mean they did shank you to get it out.

He is actively conspiring to subvert the democratic process to strike down the ACA, likely in a lame duck administration, with no other plan for healthcare in place, at a time of year when health plans are renewing, causing chaos and taking away health coverage for millions of Americans in the middle of a pandemic.
The country would be vastly better off if he were dead.
As I said, it is debatable…
Hey, he’s only complicit in more than a hundred thousand unnecessary American deaths, and directly responsible for intense suffering and financial ruin for millions more. No reason to wish harm on him.
His human host body is deteriorating. He needs to devour more human souls to repair the damage.

I thought that was Lindsey Graham’s shtick.
I always assumed Mitch’s shoulder issues were from pulling his head back into his shell to quickly.
Surgery is traumatic. To remove an appendix you cut to the bowel and then through it. You might need additional blood and would likely receive additional fluid unless you had a weak heart. That said, whether they use 2 IVs for appendix depends on local practice, and also whether there are interns who need practice.
That wasn’t what I was thinking when I wrote major trauma, admittedly. But unless someone thinks you might need blood quickly one would not usually get the “two large bore IVs” recommended in ATLS.
Many people after a previous heart attack get put on blood thinners. Some require a continual adjustment of dose and all can cause bruising without an IV or even any trauma, although many elderly people with widespread bruising have taken a tumble.
I dunno, I’m 61 and have been taking daily warfarin for seven years and if I ever bruised like THAT I’d be at the emergency room hyperventilating. Yes, blood thinners can make you bruise easily but aside from having to give myself heparin shots right after being hospitalized until the embolism resolved, which resulted in some spectacular mottling all over my belly, I’ve never had anything like that and I’ve taken some tumbles and lead a pretty active lifestyle. That looks like fresh zombie makeup, that’s what that looks like.
I’d have thought Mitch would be trying to make horcruxes, not destroy them.
The Guardian has a good picture of him with the bruises.

A fall is a pretty good guess, especially considering his age, history of having polio (which would make him less agile in general), the bruises on his face and a known fall last year in which he got injured.
One hand looks WAY worse than the other, which leads me to think there might be factors in play other than normal aging. Maybe he did fall or maybe it’s a blood clotting thing.
But there’s obviously something wrong and he shouldn’t be denying it. Elected officials should be honest about issues involving their health. I think they are entitled to privacy with regards to the details ( something like “he is having some issues with his medication” would suffice) but they shouldn’t claim nothing is wrong when he’s obviously sick or injured. It’s disrespectful.
I think the most likely explanation is simply that he’s been rotting from the inside out, soul first, for some time now. We are seeing the end stages of someone being literally consumed by evil - he will be reduced to a small heap of brimstone and shit by November 3rd.
He’ll still win. Lindsey Graham will keep him in a shoebox under his bed and carry him to work every day, until his own lips and hands turn blue.
