Lying and denying: IOWRDI*
*It’s okay when Republicans do it.
This. And - assuming it’s true* - a statement to the effect that “his doctors expect him to make a full recovery within three weeks, and his ability to do his job is not compromised.”
*Cue snide remarks about Republicans not caring if something is true. Yeah, I know.
He has an angel on his left shoulder, and a devil on his right shoulder. Every time the angel tries to whisper in his ear, he punches it in the face.
Whether he can reasonably expect to serve a full term, while being physically able to do the job on at least most days, certainly strikes me as something that should be part of the public discussion.
My less-trained-than-a-doctor-but-adequately-trained-an-EMT-brain wonders if maybe they tried to establish a line in one hand and blew the vein.
Well, this does possibly play into one of her campaign themes, about McConnell being older than Methuselah.
She would have done better with “This guy is way too creepy-looking to be your Senator.”
If his veins are hard to hit, they may have tried three times to establish the line in one hand before going to the other. I say that as someone whose veins are hard to hit.
My daughter, right this minute, has three, 6 feet away from me.
He had heart by pass surgery in the early 2000’s. He could be having heart trouble.
His lips are unusually cyanotic, much more than usual for him. That’s consistent with heart problems too.
If this was the case, McConnell might never die but he would definitely suffer.
I will remain perpetually amused that if it had not been for Jeri Ryan’s husband being a creep, we might not have had a President Obama.
(Discourse insists on at least 5 characters. I want a “like” button, dammit.)
Could be Actinic pupura, a non impact type of bruising caused by ageing skin
Is this the same thing? Somebody posted this on a Facebook page as the likely cause:
What puzzles me is why, if there is a totally benign explanation like senile purpura, they don’t just say so. Plus, McConnell’s unwillingness to visit the White House when he knows they aren’t taking proper protective measures against the the spread of Covid is telling. If he’s totally healthy, why doesn’t he just play along like the good little lap dog he usually is?
It’s the evasion and the atypical break from the President’s approach, far more than the bruises themselves, that make me suspicious that something may be up with his health.
Because no politician will ever cop to having a condition with the word “senile” in its name.
What’s the frequency, Mitch?
It’s probably venous related. Or he’s rotting from the inside out and it’s starting to show.
