McDonald's coffee

Does anybody know what brand of coffee McDonald’s uses?

Crap™.

With the vast number of McDonald’s in the world, there are likely many different suppliers of coffee for them.

It probably isn’t a very expensive type of coffee.

On a related note:
Is the McCoffee[sup]TM[/sup] the same all over the world?

By that I don’t mean if it’s the same brand, but rather if it’s supposed to taste the same everywhere. Coffee is one product where there are very big national differences. A cup of German ‘coffee’ doesn’t taste like Swedish ‘coffee’. (And I’m still only talking about the percolated beverage here - not espresso etc.)

I have been told that there are more than 30 varieties of Nescafe Gold[sup]TM[/sup] (all sold under the same name) to account for different taste on different markets.

The McDonalds coffee seems to me to be a bland american blend, but I haven’t really been desperate enough to drink more than a cup or two of it. (I personally don’t like the taste, but that’s beside the point.)

(And let’s not get started on McCafe, that’s something else.)

The one across our apartment here in WA uses Seattle’s Best Coffee.

In Hawaii, McD’s uses a Kona coffee. It’s been a few years since I worked there, so I forget the brand name. But it is a locally grown and sold coffee.

McCoffe in Sweden is distinctly Swedish (don’t know what brand) and is actually pretty good. A donut and Coffe for $1. Good price too.

Mc D’s coffee in NYC area is pretty good. They have to compete w/ duncon donuts and the like which makes very good coffee (IMHO)

outside the area it’s the plain crap

At the McDonald’s I worked at, we used Maxwell House.
