I didn’t realize he had this amazing bookstore. I’ve been a fan for many years. I’d love to go see it and visit the Dairy Queen while I’m there.
Anyone ever been there?

Really, no Larry McMurtry fans out there? I thought this was really very interesting.
I have half a bookcase full of McMurtry, love him. I credit Lonesome Dove with getting my family out of Seattle and back to Iowa. “Hey look, kids, see that? It’s called the sky!”
I’ve always wanted to visit his town/store.
McMurtry writes the most colorful characters, and his dialogue is amazing. I think he’s vastly underrated. It’s too bad that I’ve already read about all of his stuff, I wish there was more.
The first one I read was Duane’s Depressed, third in the Last Picture Show trilogy. I got it out of a bin for a buck. I was an instant fan. I just love his stuff.
They say that bookstore will close at the end of the year. I wonder if my fiance would want to take a trip to Texas. That would be a dream for me to visit that little town and go to that bookstore. And I’d have to stalk around until I found Mr. McMurtry, just to thank him and shake his hand.
Let’s hope he finds someone else to keep the bookstore open. From the article it sounded like maybe just a temporary closing.
Have you read the Sin Killer series? I read the first one but didn’t continue with it.
