Me Too is BS

It always has been, no matter what Rose or Alyssa say. Now their is one against Biden. Why now? The guys been around for like 40 years, but no now that he’s is the nominee gota a put in that me too. Of course now that it is coinvent for her Alyssa doesn’t believe the woman. What a joke.

I’m ranting but I’m pissed. Everyone believed Amber Heard, but come to find out, she is the abuser and is facing 3 years in jail. Too late though, she already dragged a mans name through the mud. His reputation ruined.

I always knew the Cosby thing was BS too. There is no knockout drug, everyone responds differently to drugs. That’s why there are anesthesiologists. If he was really giving women drugs on that scale, some would have died.

It’s all BS.

In before the lock.

But it is kind of hard to seriously say we support metoo when we have Clinton and Biden on our side. Ideally metoo should be independent of politics. Ideally.

As for the accusations against Biden, they need to be investigated. I think Biden himself has called for them to be investigated.

The problem is sexual accusations can and are used as weapons. Not just false accusations to defame a person, but also false accusations to defame journalists. The Washington Post had a woman who was a conservative come in with a made up story about her being groomed by Roy Moore. Her goal was to make the WaPo look like fools, but they investigated her story and found it was baseless. False accusations to defame reporters, the person accused as well as partisans who will jump on the accusation only to look silly later are a real thing. Sexual accusations are going to be weaponized and made falsely for various reasons.

There are some concerns for the woman accusing Biden. My understanding is she mentioned feeling uncomfortable by him long before this, but she didn’t mention any kind of rape until after he won the nomination. And she has written letters showing a lot of admiration for Putin, and there are concerns here motives may be political. Either way, it needs to be investigated but there are valid fears it could be politically motivated.

Cosby on the other hand has about 60 accusations. Thats not going to happen out of nothing. Mitt Romney has 0 sexual assault accusations. Neither does Bernie Sanders. Endless numbers of celebrities have 0 sexual assault accusations. Cosby has about 60.

The Amber Heard thing was bothersome. I remember when it first came out, I would read online and several people who survived abusive relationships said the way she acted din’t seem right considering what she was saying.

I’m gonna need a bigger bag of popcorn.

This is going to go well.

I have a feeling that the size you will want does not exist.

O. J. was innocent, too!

This needs to be in the Pit to be properly answered. Since we’re not, I’ll just say that I disagree with the premise of this thread.

Ted Bundy also had his name dragged through the mud and his reputation destroyed over this Me Too BS.:mad::mad:

Is that why Bill Cosby paid out $3.38 million to Andrea Constand in exchange for a non-disclosure agreement?

And Robert Blake. It was the one-armed man who did it, and O.J. was searching for him to the ends of the earth, starting with every golf course in Florida.

Stranger

Claims that Cosby was drugging people are BS.
Unfortunately the raping women part of the said claims are true.

The OP can relax. COVID19 has probably put the kibosh on #metoo. Misogynists of the world, rejoice! Recall your saviour, SARS-COV2. All hail the crowned one.

Never mind what you think about #metoo. How do you feel about sexual assault? For or against?

Having reservations about #MeToo doesn’t mean they’re for sexual assault.

That’s why I advocate for talking about sexual assault, not hashtags. Then we’re all really clear what we’re talking about.

Make a thread for it if that’s what you want to talk about. OP is talking about #MeToo.

#MeToo is and has been enormously positive for our society and the OP is wrong. Sexual assault and rape, and mistreatment of women for speaking out about their experiences, are absolutely monumental problems in our society that we’re only starting to properly deal with. And the progress in the last few years is due to the #MeToo movement (and related advocacy).

My problem is that it retroactively criminalizes behavior that took place in a time when it might not have been criminal. Or at least would not have been prosecuted, or a guilty verdict not returned.

Yeah, but as soon as you put a #hashtag on it, it becomes a “thing” that people glom on to.

But I also think there their[sic] are a lot of dumb fucking guys out there who think "you can’t even talk to or say anything around women at work anymore because of “#metoo”. That is, of course, ridiculous. Unless you are one of these creepy guys (I used to know several) who would only say sexist shit and try to cop a feel to women in the office. Here’s a hint. You do not need to show your appreciation to the new marketing analyst by giving her a hug after the presentation.

The spelling/grammar of the OP leads me to believe English is not their first language, so I’ll grant a pass there, but seriously?

You’re referring to your own post here, yes?

When has rape not been a criminal act?
