medical question (TMI)

Is 11 days medically too long to have a period? We’ll pretend for my sake this is theoretical.

factors
~started “the pill” 1 day prior to the start of the period (coincidentally)
~no pain other than cramps, and only light bleeding from the 5th day on.

probably not a factor?
~said person lost their virginity on the 6th day

I found that site is really helpful with medical questions, unless theres a Dr. Doper who knows the answer.

I am not a doctor, but I do know a little bit about female things…I do know that this person should have started the pill during her period unless her doctor told her otherwise. As for having an 11 day period, I believe that is related to the pill and losing her virginity has nothing to do with it (and BTW, I hope it was very special and that a condom was used as there is no protection from the pill until two weeks have passed).

This girl might have to go through the entire month with a very light bleed until the pack of birth control pills is finished…or it will tail off. Her body is getting used to the hormones. I remember having a similar experience when I first started on the pill.

The pill can mess with hormones summat outrageous.

The one time I tried them I bled for 8 weeks straight… Not a nice experience.

Please have the person this is happening to go see the doctor. Just to make sure things are okay.

Always better safe than sorry.

Holy croike, 4-8 weeks of this nonsense?! I didn’t think it had anything to do with the virginity losing, but just in case it was relevant.

MMK. Last time “said girl” was on the pill, there was none of this bleeding-for-freakin-ever bull. Thanks all, just wanted some reassurance…for her.

Having an extended bleed after starting the pill is normal. But see your doctor anyway as it would be good to have a check up, for your own peace of mind if nothing else.
