Medium 3/14 -- Manos reference?

During today’s episode of Medium, one scene involved a strange person on a porch saying to the main character something which sounded like:

“There is no way out of here. It will be dark soon. There is no way out of here.”

That’s not what they said–I can’t remember what they said–but as soon as they said whatever they said I was reminded of the movie Manos: Hands of Fate, both by the rhythm of what they actually said and by the situation being portrayed.

(What she actually said was something like “He’s not here right now. He’s gone into town. He’s not here right now.”)

Any chance this is a winking reference and not just a coincidence? I know the quote isn’t actually anything like the line from Manos when you look at it one way… but it’s structured similarly, just as the scene was structured similarly w/out sharing anything with the Manos scene by way of actual plot. Makes me wonder…

I think that was a reference to one of the comments either Joel or the 'Bots threw out during the MST version, Frylock.
