You understand what is contemplated by “investigating” and “allegations,” do you not?
And you’ll be around to comment on the results of the investigation, will you?

huh? Seriously? Once a woman is the victim of abuse, she is instantly and permanently shielded from any judgment about her character forever and always? Because any and every reference to her character is always, 100% of the time, in every instance with every person in every conversation, an attempt to say that because her character might be less than perfect, she asked for it?
Dio. That’s completely and utterly ridiculous.
A person can be a conniving, mean, selfish, narcississtic, rude, grasping, dishonest bitch. That doesn’t mean the crazy motherfucker who beats her has an excuse or a right. It means she’s a a horrible person. So is he. Two horrible people behaving horribly. Her horribleness doesn’t mitigate, excuse, explain or otherwise legitimize his horribleness.
And by precisely the same token, his horribleness doesn’t mitigate, excuse, explain or otherwise HER horribleness. She doesn’t get a pass on being a horrible person because her boyfriend is also horrible.
You may not be, but I assure you that some people actually are capable of seeing these two people as separate and distinct individuals, and capable of seeing how she has been victimized AND how she (may have been, I don’t actually know or care one way or another) may in fact be a completely vile person. She doesn’t STOP being vile because HE is “viler”.
As it pertains to the abuse, yes. It’s irrelevant.
Special guest star Yakov Smirnov as Uncle Vasily. “In Soviet Russia, you blow state without jacuzzi.”
Objectively, yes, but real life is not objective. In the Court of Public Opinion, a battered woman who seeks (or appears to be seeking) to cash in will inevitably be held in lower esteem than a battered woman who dabs the corners of her eyes and says it’s not about the money, it’s to protect her kids other helpless women from harm.
So who’s viler? Bernie Madoff or Mel Gibson ?
Tha Bears…
That was a given at the outset of the inquiry - but it appears (and I admit I haven’t done a full analysis of every post) that you are attacking and dismissing any and all references to Oksana’s character and assuming that any and every such reference IS in reference to the abuse and IS suggesting that her character mitigates his behavior…that’s pretty much exactly my point. You h
Also doesn’t Mel have friends pretty high up in the sheriff’s department? I seem to recall he shot some PSAs for them back in the day and that’s one of the reasons he was let off kind of easy after the anti-Semitic rant.
None of that has any relevance to this thread, no, or really to anything at all that’s any of our business. All victims of abuse have imperfect character. So what?
Unfortunately, Oksana’s not fat, you see.
I’ve just been through all of this with a friend coming out of an abusive relationship. This is how I explain it. He’s angry his toy doesn’t work the way he wants it to anymore, and so wants to smash it. ![]()
So people may talk about her character as gossipy crap and it doesn’t automatically mean they are saying it in this thread they are saying she deserved it, so you should stop reacting as though it does.
That’s what.
I think that’s exactly the point of those who are upset that she’s being attacked at exactly the same time as the news about the abuse is coming out. The less sympathy we have for her, the less bad Mel looks. It’s pretty much a given in most people’s heads that someone who does something awful to someone we hold in high esteem is worse than someone who does something awful to someone we hold in low esteem. No matter what the intent is of the Oksana-bashing, the result is that the worse she looks, the better Mel looks.
Real life is, indeed, not objective.
Hey, Scumpup, what’s the matter? Did the mean fatty ugly bitches scare you off?

It seems to me that a lot of people wish to draw some universal characteristic for women on the end of male abuse. The fact that there are so many situations where women submit themselves to repeated abuse based on conditioning by the male perpetrator does not mean every woman is not in full control of her faculties. Such an attitude is purely sexist. Blame it all on the man if you wish, but in this case, Oksana has demonstrated that she is no wilted flower, unless she’s of the conium variety.
The universal characteristic is that they are all victims of abuse. Nothing else is relevant.
Remind me how she demonstrated anything about her character again.
Well, that and the fact that everyone knows that he’s not only an asshole but a liar, too.
Oh and for all of his slams on Diosa’s looks maybe he realizes that we all saw pics of someone who wouldn’t be attractive enough to carry her purse, let alone make jokes about her ability to attract penis.
There are certain words a person of a certain cultural background can say, and a person of a different cultural background just shouldn’t ever say.
Please never attempt to say y’all again, neither in text, nor in person. Thank you.
