If I had a woman, my preference would be her. But I have to settle for what I have.
I asked the question, and let me rephrase it so it is more specific. Men- Would you rather watch porn for pleasure or have sex with a real live woman? And if you DO prefer porn- Why and is it an addiction for you?

In an ideal situation, my woman of course. But porn is a great imagination-enhancer for times when you wind up taking care of yourself.
OK, I know we’re not in GQ anymore, but I’d love to see a cite for this. 
Are there really people who prefer sex with their hand to sex with a “real live woman?” That doesn’t make sense to me. Sure, if you’re single whacking off might be cheaper and easier than trolling a bar or signing up for eHarmony. But given the choice between porn and a real woman, why would anyone pick porn?
My partner, by a good long shot. Which is not to say I am not capable of being addicted to porn. I think I could become so, so I try to avoid it except with the wife.
It’s apples and oranges. Sometimes, like norinew mentioned, I want to make love to my wife, with conversation, foreplay, toys, etc., and do things to each other than can’t be replicated by masturbation. Other times, I just want to look at naughty pictures and get my rocks off without the involvement of another person.
So I can’t say I prefer one over the other- I enjoy both for different reasons.
If you give us any sexy choice the answer is always both. Would I rather have sex in a box or with a fox? “Ummm, both please.” Here or there? “Both!” On a train or in the rain? “Oh, yes - both.”
I’m not much a porn consumer but it has never occurred to me that I need to choose one or the other. They are two completely different things. One is the woman I love and the other is movies (or books or magazines or whatever.) It also hasn’t occurred to me, until now, to wonder whether my wife prefers me or romance novels.
Porn is my woman. I call her Sasha. Or Christy. Or sometimes Zara.

Wife hands down. My wife gets these Victoria Secret catalogs (why–she never buys from them) and tosses them to me as soft porn. After a while, I found them boring. My wife is never boring.
Or just someone with Issues about porn.

gallen, to answer your question- Yes, there are people who would rather masturbate to porn than put forth the effort/involvement of sex with a person. That’s why I asked the question if and how it is an addiction for one who prefers masturbation(to porn)
