I’m looking for good quality at a great price. Pleated front, or not, I like them both. Got any suggestions? Links appreciated. Thanks in advance!
I recently lost some weight and mine no longer fit me.

Dockers always seemed a solid choice for me. You can search for pleated too if you want.
Good quality, decent price. Link below is for Amazon but you can find them in stores too if you prefer shopping there.
Kohl’s sells Dockers and a couple of other name and house brands. Some of which are half the price of the others. It’s an easy place to do one-stop trying on, if not buying.
All of which fit differently. I am not your shape. But I find that there’s great variety in how well different brands fit me. The same is probably true for you. Suggesting that trying different brands & styles might be an hour well-spent.
I just had to buy new ones a few months ago. I actually went to the mall and tried on ones from several brands. I ended up with trousers from J Crew.
Daddy, what’s “mall”?
Ignoring the snark. They still exist and it was convenient to be able to park once and then to go from Macy’s to The Gap to Banana Republic to J Crew (and I think a couple of other places). And though I hate in-person shopping and especially trying stuff on, I thought it was a good idea so I tried on the trousers at each store. That’s all much harder if you shop on your phone or computer.
Orvis makes some fantastic ones. They fit right, and will last.
Kohls is a great brick and mortar choice. Once you’ve tried lots on and know your brand, fit and size their online sales and ordering works well.
Lands End.com does high value for the price on men’s pants and shirts, with lots of sizes and fits, plus will hem to length for you, cuffed or uncuffed. Good customer service too and great sales/clearance prices too.
LLBean is good also but more expensive. Their stuff wears forever though.
Thanks, all! I’ll be checking them out.
Levi’s owned Dockers yet they has a separate line of Levi’s khakis. They sold Docker’s last year but still make the khakis chinos.
Dress code at work or something, so you needed khaki instead of basic black or blue?
Since the OP seems answered I hope it is ok for a little hijack (seems better than a whole new thread):
Do pleated pants do anything differently/wear differently than non-pleated pants? Or is the pleat just a design feature with no practical use? (FWIW I think the pleats look a bit fancier but IMHO.)
The pleats provide some extra fabric in the 3-6" below the beltline. If you are someone who gets a bunch wider as you go down from wherever you wear your beltline, pleats help.
A little.
Yes, it’s a little more fabric in front, just below the waist.
Said another way, it’s a way to disguise that you bought the “pudgy cut” chinos, not the athletic cut version.
I also thing it helps hide a different type of bulge in the pants
Most likely (way) more expensive than you have in mind, but another high-quality option is prAna. I have several pairs of Zions and Brions that I wear almost daily and they still look new after many years. Good thing they last so long, because at today’s prices I’ll probably never buy them again. (They do have a 20% discount on the website in exchange for your email address and Amazon has some limited sizes on sale)
Looking at the prAna website, the most expensive trousers are $118 for blue jeans. That’s way more expensive? The ones I bought from J Crew were $98.
You might try Costco, if you have a membership. They sell a lot of quality clothing at bargain prices. You can’t try them on, of course.
I had the OP’s post in mind, asking for a “great price”. I guess $100 for a pair of good jeans/chinos is the going rate these days. Glad I bought mine back when they were $50 on sale.
