ok, i have a couple quick questions. I absolutly hate my hair…i have fairly long hair…what i want is llike long hair on the top and then the sides and back shorter…but for my hair cutter that is like impossible. does anyone know if there is like a website or something that pics of all different kinds of hairstlyles or something?? i searched it but no luck…
second, i was wondering what styling product makes hair stay, but looks dry. I hate having wet or greasy hair. I see people with hair that stays in place, but looks natural and dry…thanks. i hope someone can help 
Hair spray.

ive used hair spray before…can i use it when my hair is dry?? is that the trick??..thanks
I’ve never cared for hair spray. It’s usually smelly and feels sticky. When my hair is cut short in a sort of spiky arrangement I’ll usually use gel. It feels stiff once dry, but doesn’t look greasy and isn’t sticky, and some brands smell rather nice. (I use Joico, which smells like grape) You can get gels in various levels of hold depending on how self-determined your hair is to arrange itself or how difficult the particular style would be to stay in place.
Me, I have rather fine hair which barbers seem to love but I hate, so I can achieve bedhead that’s spectacularly resistant to taming, thus gel works much better for me than hair spray; it serves the double duty of mostening the hair, making it easier to style, and then keeping it that way once so arranged.
You want a reverse mullet? Yay! More power to you! Somebody get this gentleman the best stylist that can be found!

so is a reverse mullet bad?? lol…it seemed like that was a little sarcastic…basically im just really confused and i never know what the heck i want with my hair…i want it to look good but my hair sucks,my stylist sucks, and i have a weird shaped head! lol…o well…

My mental image of what you described is something out of manga or anime. A Japanese lead guitarist (with round eyes, anime-style) in a futuristic post-postpunk band wearing a black leather unitard and that hairstyle…colored fuchsia streaked with silver. And mussed with mousse just enough to look sexy. Playing a fuchsia guitar with silver flake, like a Flying V but shaped like flames. We could name him Higita, which means ‘fire guitar’. Point me to one of those design-your-own-manga-character web sites, and I’ll visualize the mental image.
I think maybe you’re having trouble with your stylist because “long hair on the top and then the sides and back shorter” can mean a lot of things.
All of these men have hair that fits the description you give, but they vary quite a bit!
Get a magazine or three and pull out pictures of styles you like. Take them in, and your stylist can help you choose one, or perhaps a combination of a couple, that will actually work with your hair type and face shape.
There’s also a fun virtual style site where you can play with various looks on your face, and it tells you what type of hair each cut will work with.
And yes, hairspray put on wet hair keeps it looking wet, but hairspray on dry hair looks dry.
