I saw something on the news about this. Looks like the networks have given up on us people. 
Wasn’t that a joke in the movie Scrooged? They were going to add something like a piece of dangling string to each scene on the networks’s shows to appeal to cats.
That and Door mice with Antlers stapled to their heads
