I’ve had a hard time getting in the christmas spirit this year. When money is tight, it’s so hard to find gifts for people and that makes shopping a chore, instead of the fun it should be.
But yesterday, I found an affordable hummingbird feeder and bought that for my grandchildren and that cheered me right up. I hope to witness their little faces when they see the first hummingbird come to feed.
So anyway I want to wish you all a very merry holiday. May you have much to bring you cheer.
not what you’d expect, may your Christmas Day be filled with joy and happiness. May you hold your kiddos in your arms, may you get more hugs-n-kisses from them than you could ever dream of, and may you experience true peace today.
Merry Christmas! Christmas night over here, about 9pm. Not a public holiday in Buddhist Thailand but it does feel festive, as there are lights up everywhere for New Year’s, which is the big gift-giving holiday here.
I tend to be a pretty cynical person but all the joy and warmth I have been seeing around me this holiday has got me smiling so I wanted to share some of that with you. Hope you all have a joyous and fun Holiday Season.
A friend of mine is back home from the hospital (a three-day stay extended to six weeks after unexpected complications and a postoperative infection); I saw him yesterday and he was happy, which made me happy.
Just unwrapped presents with Mrs. Heir and our three sons - played a Christmas card game - listened to the Boston Pops Christmas album - warmed ourselves by the fire. Yuletide feast later. Life is good.
Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Joyous Kwanzaa, Delightful Human Light, Rockin’ Festivus to all of you! Even this cynical old atheist appreciates a day to share with our families and loved ones, to be nice to strangers just because, to smile at children.
not what you’d expect, don’t worry about how much you could or could not spend. The delight on the kinder’s faces when they see that first hummingbird is the Christmas gift you gave.
It’s been a good Christmas day - today we had a family reunion of all five siblings with our spouses, our mother, and all eleven of her grandchildren, come together from Texas and California and Denmark. One of the grandchildren, from Austin, Texas, arrived late last night and then just now she departed to return back home. She flies out tonight because she has to work tomorrow. She was only here for about 16 hours.
