There’s no ‘highest possible Jeopardy total’ any more, since they removed the 5-day limit. The highest possible one day total, assuming one contestant runs the board, gets the daily doubles as the very last selections each round, and bets everything on the DDs/Final Jeopardy questions, ranges drom $448,000 to $550,400, depending where the DDs were located. (Also assuming I did the calculations right.)
So someone getting a $1,000,000 run isn’t terribly unlikely, especially if they manage a nice long run.

Instead of regular episodes, they’re going to air episodes from the Art Fleming run, which was almost totally wiped out by NBC in the mid-1970’s (only 3 episodes are on the tape trading circuit, and 20 or so at UCLA)?
Well, what happened?
We’ll know in a couple of hours. It’s not quite 5:30 in the east. We’ve prepared. Our DVR is set-up and patched through a 40 KVA UPS just in case power goes out or lightening strikes nearby. At 7:00, we’re going to park our car at a nearby church and walk back home so no one will think we’re there. At 7:25, we’ll close our drapes and forward our phones to answering machines. As soon as we know, I’ll post it here.

Seeing how nothing out of the ordinary happened on today’s episode, it seems most likely that today’s winner will go on an extraordinary winning streak. That, or Griffin’s yanking our chain.
