So – how long before Metropolis: The Director’s Cut will be offered for rent at Blockbuster?
This is probably true, particularly because the rediscovered movie is in much worse shape than the version that’s been around since 1928. The article mentions that they’ll probably not be able to totally remove the scratches in the “new” footage, making it obvious what was originally cut.
I’m looking forward to seeing it, even if Lang stole all the best bits from Star Wars, Whale’s Frankenstein movies, and that Madonna video.
Metropolis? Big deal. Let me know when the make Kandor big again.
