I work retail in an area with lots of Latinos {by the way, how do you know they’re all from Mexico? I can’t tell. } as well as folks from the Middle East , Africa, etc. and all classes and groups of American’s. Yes it’s annoying as hell when parents won’t control their kids in public. We had a lady today who walked away from her two year old {not safe} who then proceeded to tear open a package of coloring markers with books and begin to color. She was pissed when we told her she had to pay for it.
Parents hand their kids our merchandise to play while they shop when they have no intention of buying it. Guess what? It happens in all ethnic groups and also in all ethnic groups you’ll find good parents who discipline their kids and teach them respect.
After years in retail I’d say I see an increase in the number of parents who don’t bother to teach their kids basic manners and self control, or respect for others. It’s fucking aggravating as hell. Large box stores a partly to blame because they don’t have the staff to control things and they’re so scared of offended a customer that they won’t tell parents “control your kids of get out”
I find it hard to believe you haven’t seen other groups having awful kids as well. If you live in a neighborhood with a primarily Latino population I’m sure you’d see more bad Latino kids, but calling all Latinos Mexicans is , excuse me for being blunt, ignorant at best.
I thought genetics already took care of that? Or am dat a miff?
So, in summary what you are saying is:
- Annoying parents are annoying, and
- I only notice when they are Mexican.
- Just in case you are drunk and/or high, I’m not a self-hating Mexican.

Of course Mexicans can’t control your damn kids while in public. Everyone knows that if you’re looking for a nanny you hire a Costa Rican.
California borders Mexico also, but I’ve met tons of Guatemalans, Costa Ricans, Salvadorans, etc. here. Even though L.A. is half Latino, it seems like I hardly ever come across Mexicans here.
It’s a little ironic that someone would make such a wide generalization about the people of Texas in a thread with an OP that is being damned for making wide generalizations about Mexicans. And I can’t even count the number of times I’ve heard people on this board generalize about “rednecks” and “white trash.”
The rule here and among most left-leaning places in general seems to be, “making generalizations about nonwhite groups = bad. Making generalizations about lower economic classes of whites = okay.”

No, I do not think he was. I have heard people say this over and over again, whenever someone from Texas does something bad: “Not all Texans are like this [just most of them/just everyone except me.]”
There’s another thread right now in the pit titled “Pennsylvania rednecks beat and kill Mexican illegal immigrant; get same sentence as beating a dog.” What is a “redneck” but a way of generalizing about a whole social class? Yeah sure, there are white people who call themselves rednecks. And there are black people who call themselves niggers.
