No, you’re still claiming not to be racist.
Mexicans or New Mexicans? As with the OP, were they Tejanos or Mexicans?
This would have made more sense at the beginning of the thread, but I just got here…
I’m won’t claim my prejudices one way or another. I dislike pretty much everybody regardless of appearance. It’s a lot easier that way.
So I’m not going to be very helpful here but I have friends (Mexicans) who work as waitstaff at various restaurants.
One common complaint expressed by each of them was that they hated waiting on Mexican Nationals (tourists who are Mexican citizens).
They complained that they (the waiters) were rudely addressed by parents who let their children run wild, who complained about nearly everything and never tipped.
Mexico has an unofficial class system where service people are treated poorly by those of better wealth. The tourists don’t bother to control their children because they don’t want to show “respect” to the waitstaff as equals.
Keep in mind that there were plenty of Mexican American customers who frequented the same restaurants that the waiters were happy to have as customers.
Of course. If you were trolling you’d have said they were fat Mexicans who left shitty tips.
I guess school’s out already.
How did the OP know they were Mexican? Even if they appear Latino and speak Spanish, there are many countries they could have come from which would make them pretty indistinguishable from a Mexican, especially from the OP’s non-informed POV.
If you’re gonna be a racist, at least do it right.
Yet another sentence whose meaning changes greatly with the absence of the intended comma.
Well Texas does border Mexico, so it’s not outside the realm of possibility that he’s been in contact with more Mexicans than other people of latin descent.
Well, gee, maybe that’s because you ARE a racist?
…Hey, and why do black people always go to McDonalds!?
I’m black and I don’t freaking know.
People are people.
There are also large populations of Tejanos, native Texans of Mexican decent as well. I doubt that anything besides skin tone and possibly language colored his opinion of their origin.
I’m afraid I have to call bullshit on this one. Nobody goes to Kansas City, Missouri as a tourist.
Not consciously - I just went for the most offensive thing that came to mind and fit in a few words. All similarities with mothers, real, animal or fictional, is entirely coincidental :).
Who controls the plastic pink flamingos in the yards of their trailers? Huh?
That’s a much more serious problem than Mexican children running amok.
I mean, plastic pink flamingos, man! Jeez!
Actually, the only people who REALLY suck are from Cleveland. (As one from Pittsburgh, I’m required to believe that)
Don’t blame the parents. If you try to discipline “Mexican” children, their eyes start glowing and you end up doing whatever they want.
Have you ever been to New Jersey? It was built on all 9 of Dante’s circles of Hell.
I don’t mean to sound racist, but in my experience Mexican children seem to be somewhat better behaved than other children I see/hear in public places.
And that goes for Texas as well.
Not to hijack the thread, but I will admit that my time spent living in NJ was unpleasant as best. That had a lot to do with my job, but while that may have been a factor, another part of it was the populace.
No kiddin’ I told my few relatives in NJ that I would NEVER return there unless one of them died or was in the hospital. I mean it, too. If I never set foot in NJ again I’ll consider it good luck. It may not be fair or rational, but NJ to me is just a miserable place filled with miserable people. I really NEVER EVER want to go there again.
