Michael Bloomberg gives President Trump 55% chance of being re-elected in 2020

Step 3 last year was replaced by “The gullible rubes fell victim to the world’s biggest con man”. So have no fear, con man’s charisma is rapidly fading and the opposition has been roused. In 2020 (and indeed 2018) the better angels of our nature will prevail once again.

I’m pretty sure the “better angels of our nature” will prevail just after the unicorn herds return to the Great Plains.

I repeat my earlier challenge. Yes, the Democrats CAN win in 2020. But what states that Trump won will DEFINITELY go to Warren/Booker/Cuomo/Whoever in 2020?

I figure all states that Hillary won will go to any Democrat nominee. All states Romney won will go to Trump in 2020. Now tell me which ones that Trump won are you sure to flip?

Answer is, there are no sure things. Which means we very well might get 8 years of Trump.

It’s hardly far-fetched. Prior to Election Day, who had Wisconsin, Michigan or Pennsylvania in Trump’s win column? Snatching those back, along with Iowa and Florida, should be well possible, and to add some padding to the lead, the Democratic equivalent of pulling a Trump would be for the Democratic 2020 candidate to snatch a few red states such as North Carolina or Arizona.

The 2020 Democratic candidate would clear 300+ EVs then.

Is this true? I’m under the impression that a number of people who voted for Trump were not people who vote in every presidential election. They came out for a number of reasons – some felt they weren’t being heard and wanted to stick it to the man, some didn’t like that we had an African-American president and didn’t want a woman, so voted for the white racist/misogynist, some I’m sure thought that their own conditions would improve under Trump once he drained the swamp, etc. etc.

If I’m right, what is the assurance that these people will come out to vote for Trump again?

I say this realizing that I likely sound like a lot of Republicans before the 2012 election. IIRC they thought that some people who voted for Obama did so just to get a black POTUS and, having achieved that, would stay at home in 2012. But then, conditions for a lot people did get batter during Obama’s first term – we made great strides in recovering from the recession, and the ACA promised to get a lot of folks affordable health insurance.

I agree you’re right that many Trump voters were first-timers or infrequent voters. Ref the snip above …

Because they’re listening to Trump’s tweets as their news source. According to that feed, Trump is the best president evar and is creating a new Great triumph every day. One which benefits exactly the people who voted for him.

When he asks them starting in early 2018, just 6 months from now to vote for his chosen congressmen and asks again in late 2019 for them to vote for him in the 2020 primary and the 2020 general, they’ll eat that up.

This.

Do you think that the people of N. Korea KNOW that they live in a shit-hole? No they do not. What they DO KNOW is what they’ve been told; That they live in the best place in the world, and their leaders are the best, and everyone else in the world is worse off than them. They are brainwashed. It is very possible to have an entire population that believes the lies if that is ALL THEY ARE EVER TOLD.

35% of the population of the USA are now in this boat. And the numbers are only going to get bigger.
