I thought it was obvious that it was a bit. He was sloshing around his glass and slurring and his eyes had that glazed over look while ranting about murder hornets. Not two minutes later, right after the Tina Fey thing, he was back to normal.
That said their timing was way off, much worse than usual. It was a pretty bad episode overall. To me the funniest part was Pete Davidson’s song and that wasn’t great.
