Maybe about 10%. The public had not ever seen The Real Richard Nixon-- the cursing, the racism, the temper tantrums, etc. We KNOW the real DJT and have for decades. News coverage was nothing like it is today. Certainly we did not hear Nixon’s “voice” in the equivalent of tweets, every day, multiple times per day. He was remote, like celebrities and presidents were before 24/7/ coverage. But I was still riveted, glued to my TV every day after work watching John Dean testify in his calm way. The rage and adrenaline level I’m experiencing now were not present then.

Maybe I’m too cynical, but I think Cohen could present 27 8x10 color glossy photographs with circles and arrows and a paragraph on the back of each one explaining what each one is…showing Trump personally committing the most heinous personal crimes against little girls and still nothing would be done. The plutocrats will look after their own.

He’s playing the game with very few high cards now. He’s got to cover up a weak case with bluster. I don’t blame him for doing so, but I don’t think it’ll work except to get the republican base riled up a bit.
But what this is really aimed at isn’t the short term. It’s getting info out there that the D nominee can use next fall. I doubt Cohen’s got anything that can actually lead to impeachment so positioning and gather sound bites for next year is what Cummings has to chase.
