Finally, the president is the commander in chief of our armed forces. Calling people who served previously as “stupid” is not a good look from someone in that position.

Not really. Back then there were enough Republicans with some moral sense and a greater devotion to the welfare of the country than to their party that they might take action. It’s still good to get this stuff on the record in advance of the 2020 elections, though.
