Michael Moore cleans up his act!

Well, he did allow as to how the Pubbies story that ‘this man’ could protect them from terror attacks didn’t quite make sense to him, but he also said that the Democrats should have done a better job of making a good story about their candidate, which they (we) didn’t. So I didn’t read that as ‘liars.’

Quicktime Video.

I eagerly await the day muttonchops come back in style.

Thanks, Sleeping.

Roseweed, did you really not pick up on the sarcasm and the humor in his appearance? It seems mind-blowing that you wouldn’t, but considering your posting, maybe you’re not swift enough to catch the deadpan straight act he was putting on.

I, for one, thought it was damned funny. But I’m still :smack: :smack: over your dumbass reaction.

Sam

I’ve never seen a Michael Moore movie, but I’ve heard alot about them, and of course, I’ve seen many photos of him.

The video doesn’t even have sound for me and I could instantly tell that it was a joke. Pretty funny too.

How could this be seen as anything other than a spoof of the “republican look” is a mystery to me.

I’ll take “Michael Moore is always in the wrong in some people’s eyes” for $1000, Alex.

I loathe his work, but I was very impressed with his comments on the Tonight show. Looked reasonable too, but that’s not important.

Came across as someone who could be a serious political commentator, not some fringe ranter. And my guess is that this was (and will continue to be) his goal.

Michael Moore did alot for the Republican party, thanks

Wrong. John Kerry did a lot lot more for the Republicans. It did though took Giuliani to point that out.

Rather a pity they can’t do anything for themselves.

[Grammatical Nitpick] It done did though took Giuliani to point that out. [/Grammatical Nitpick]

Au contrare, mon ami.

Everything the Republicans do is for themselves, and themselves only. They frown on selflessness and charity and compassion as “bleeding heart” weaknesses, remember?

“Republican look”? He wore a fucking suit. A SUIT!!!

It could be seen as “he finally got tired of looking disheveled”.

Didn’t you get the memo? Not only did they claim moral superiority, but they’ve also cornered the market on suit-wearing and hair-combing.

      (ow, my heeead)

I forgot that all the democrat congressmen are wearing birkenstocks and tye-dye t-shirts to work now.

Look, if Michael Moore takes a shower in the nude (or a bath, but I can’t imagine it would be quite as effective), you’ll have people saying that it’s his latest satire on the Emperor’s New Clothes. He appears on a talk show, so it must be his satire of the informalisation of a mediatised culture. He dons a baseball cap and it’s his satire of the synthetic personalisation of social constructivism.

Don’t smirk too hard – I’ve read a fair number of editorials that claim The Incredibles is “a red-state movie” because it dares to show (gasp!) an intact, traditional, family arrangement.

Amen. I’ve said some very passionate words about Mr. Moore, but for fuck’s sake, people… he shaved. Not. A big. Deal.

People are focusing too much on his look and not enough on the interview. He looked so uncomfortable the entire time, he might as well have been naked. If a scruffy beard and baseball cap are the price I have to pay for a decent interview, I’ll take gross Michael Moore over the cleaned-up yet hopelessly nervous and awkward version any day.

Don’t be an idiot. Clearly MM changing his complete look before an appearance on the most popular late night talk show was done to make some kind of a point. You may not give a shit but spare us the proud to be obtuse line o’ bull.

Michael Moore before - Radical, left-wing, disgusting slob, obese liar and hypocrite.
Michael Moore after - Suitwearing, clean shaven, obese liar and hypocrite.
