Michelle Duggar has another miscarriage.

Can you imagine the profusion of internet activity should Michelle die in a pregnancy related incident?

Given how much of the time that woman is pregnant the odds are that when the end comes for her she’ll happen to be pregnant at the time, whether it’s pregnancy-caused or not.

Nope. Her oldest son already has two kids.

I don’t have cable so I’ve never really followed the Duggars. If they’re opposed to television how do they justify being on a show (and accepting money from a medium they find so objectionable)?

Not nearly as much as if she gave birth to a healthy number 20 who was obviously half-black.

I imagine that they see it as a platform to get their message out into the world.

She’s not listening.

Duggars visited fertility doctor about baby No. 20.

Okay, here’s the deal Mr. and Mrs. Duggar…if you need to go to a FERTILITY doctor than G-D doesn’t necessarily WANT you to have any more children.

OKAY???

We live in a society in which that sort of crap shows up my newsfeed on Facebook. The media needs to declare a media blackout of all Kardashians, Duggars and anything ever related to Paris Hilton.

They will. never. stop. until she reaches menopause.

Let’s hope she IS starting menopause. It’s almost like they’re addicts.

I just want to make sure that I am ready to catch a baby if that would happen.

Seriously Mrs Duggar? :dubious: It’s like you’re openly admitting one’s just literally going to fall our of your womb at random.

I think seeing an OB-GYN about high-risk pregnancies and seeing a fertility doctor aren’t the same thing. Any pregnancy at her age is probably high risk. It doesn’t appear to have anything to do with them trying to use medical means to increase their chances of conceiving.

I watched that episode, and Michelle basically went in for tests to see if she’s entered menopause. And they both said that if she was, that was fine, although if there was another baby that would be great, too.

And as far as “catching” a baby, in livestock breeding terms, that’s fairly commonly used - if your mare has “caught”, you don’t have to breed/inseminate her again. I know less about human terms that livestock ones.

Clown car.

My only real thought about the whole ‘quiverfull movement’ is that if you are afraid that the heathens will outbreed you, and you theoretically believe that your Christian God is so powerful, then if he is so all powerful, then why are you worried about being outbred?

I feel that there are an awful lot of similarities between Quiverfull and FLDS.

It also wouldn’t surprise me if it turns out the Duggars’ family life was really more like this.

My sister was the first person I heard say, “You just know that at least one of those kids is going to be gay.” And earlier this year, Michelle revealed that she has dealt with an eating disorder.

Heavev helps those who help themselves. You gotta show god you mean it and you want it or he’ll wait for someone who does. Lotta stories in the old testament about the israelites getting complacent and lazy and then god wallops them with an invasion.

He’s a specialist in multiple births and has been associated with a group that uses clomiphene therapy.

I can’t say I’m a fan or advocate of having so many children, but I have seen the show, and those of you who are bemoaning the Duggars for neglecting their children or lacking the time to bond with them are WAY off base. The Duggars not only provide for their kids financially (more than adequate, but not extravagant lifestyle), but they seem to be an incredibly close family. The children cooperate in maintaining the household, as they should, and they spent a lot of time together. Yes, they are home-schooled, but so are a lot of kids these days.

Of course, you have to take anything you see on reality TV with a grain of salt, but from what I can see, there is no indication AT ALL that the Duggars don’t care for their children with an incredible amount of time, patience, and love. Just because you can’t imagine raising 19 kids without having some of them slip through the cracks doesn’t mean it can’t be done. Some people can’t manage to have 1 or 2 without neglecting them.

Time will tell… if the children all grow up to be productive, well-adjusted adults would you still claim that they weren’t raised well? And do you not know of someone who has only 1 or 2 or 3 kids where at least one of them is a fuck-up? I think the number of kids one has is entirely irrelevant as to whether or not they will be neglected or suffer from bad parenting.

I might agree with you if Michelle was just pumping them out with no regard for the welfare of the kids she already has, but there just is no evidence that is the case.

Oh, and in case it matters, I am a divorced male with primary custody of my three children, so I do know something about parenthood and how tough it can be.

Well-said. I’m no fan of the Duggars, or how they live their lives, but they aren’t harming anyone and there is no indication of abuse or neglect (that I can see) in their family. Dad has a good job, the kids are loved and are provided for… so what’s the harm?
