Never mind, I know how you can do it. Flint is pretty much a straight shot down US-23 almost all the way to Romulus, whereas I have to take I-94 to I-696 to I-75 to I-275 to I-96 and so on and so forth just to get to the airport. I leave it up to Bill and/or Cristi to decide who should make the airport run.

FWIW, anyone who is thinking of coming…Midwest Express flies into Flint. I think that flight’s on a smaller plane, but the plane you’d be connecting from is nice. Every seat is business class on this airline. My parents have flown it and say it’s extraordinary.

Since my computer decided to take a dump last week and it’s taken me until now to fix the damn thing most of the way, I haven’t been able to rewrite the directions to the Dopapalooza.
NOTE - if you still have directions from last year, toss them out as I-475 is gonna be closed all of June and July. I’ve rewritten the directions and will mass mail them in the next couple of days.
So far, we have two types of ribs to cook as well as 10 pounds of wings and 6 pounds of boneless chicken breast. I’m looking into getting some more boneless pork loin and perhaps some sort of steaks also. There will still be burgers and hotdogs for those that want them. I’ve bought the hard booze and will be picking up some beer soon.
If you want to bring something, which is not a requirement, please bring chips, veggies, condiments or whatever else you think we all might like. I’m gonna make two kinds of BBQ sauce - hot and normal. Be forewarned though, my hot BBQ sauce is VERY hot.
As before, I’ll be having a huge party tent setup in the backyard as well as my four room camping tent. We can accomodate some sleepers no problem. Again, we have dogs that insist on sleeping with SOMEBODY so be forewarned
If ya want to listen to any specific type of music, bring CD’s as I’m gonna setup the stereo in the party tent. I have a HUGE collections of things but it’s mostly stuff like Zappa, Yes, progressive type rock and a bunch of country that my wife bought. Oh yeah, I can also supply pretty much ANY of the crap that they play on the top 40 stations these days as I have two teenage girls and a son.
The computer will hopefully be set up in a spot where it’s easily accesible to anyone that wants to pop online. Cable modem so no waiting
Again, if ya want to bring a musical instrument to jam with, feel free! I have my electric and acoustic guitars as well as a banjo. Oh yeah, a piano too, but I’m not bringing THAT outside

I just found out that I have a Dreamweaver class that day so there’s NO way I’ll be able to get it off to pick ** Strainger** up. Don’t worry, Jeff, we won’t make you walk!
I’m going to bring some venison burger, a bottle of my dad’s grape cordial (makes your hair stand on end!), broccoli salad, and this fabulously delicious chile-cilantro sauce for meat. It’s wundebar, but quite spicy.

Okay…been a busy time here so…
In the next couple of days, either me or Persephone (read ME :D) will post names and numbers of local hotels for those that want them.
To reiterate something…I really need to know how many of y’all are gonna be here to go to the piano bar on Friday as I need to talk with the owner beforehand. Otherwise, it’s gonna cost me $10 a head to reserve things at the last minute…AND, Xploder is a poor person people.
As far as Saturday go’s, it’s gonna be an all day affair. I’m going to get a buddy of mine to bring over his volleyball net and whatnot and perhaps setup a horseshoe pit or something.
As before, I’ll have the puter running full blast for the duration of the festivities for those that feel the need to post whilst drunk Should be interesting.
I’ll also be providing breakfast on Saturday - most likely biscuits and sausage gravy and perhaps eggs to order. There will be food ALL day long so people won’t get trashed real early.

I’d really like to do the Piano Bar thing, so I’ll probably be there for that… my sister’s graduation party is that weekend too, but since it’s Sunday, it shouldn’t interfere.
If Medea’s Child hasn’t told you yet, she’d like to attend, but is unsure whether or not she’d make it. Apparently Friday nights are usually spoken for, but hopefully she’ll pop by and fill you in.

I’m going to go through the emails again, and try and compile a list of attendees. So far, it’s looking pretty small here in Flint for Friday, but Saturday is shaping up to be a Major Festival Event. I don’t know what’s going on in the Lansing venue on Friday–I know BunnyGirl is hosting a couple of Dopers that evening as well, then they’ll be trekking on over to Flint on Saturday.
Is there anyone out there that needs any more information, like directions and such? Any folks that have decided to join us but aren’t on the email list? Bueller? Bueller?
