Michigan vs. Ohio state.

Which makes them even more a matter of luck.

Another one bites the dust.
Looking better for the neutral field rematch.

Oooooooooooh baby. It could be Michigan, frankly, I hope not. Great game, Florida! Actually, great game Razorbacks, too, but man, Florida just slugged their way into a serious NC bid.

Well at least Florida making wouldn’t be as bad as if the Scumbags had. And no other Pac-10 or Big 12 is bothering discussing. I just hope they don’t reward Meyer’s whining, or in the future it will be worse and worse.

I have always known the Big 10 and SEC are the best two conferences, it would be really cool if they did a Big10/Sec matchup weekend like the Big10/ACC basketball one. And matchup based on previous seasons rankings, cause Florida-Northwestern and OSU-Vandy doesn’t prove crap. Never happen, but I can dream.

I’m praying to see a Michigan-Ohio State rematch. I’m a fan of neither, but that game was so much fun, it deserves to be played again. I’m sure many will disagree with me but, frankly, I’m not interested in seeing Florida play in the NC.

And Michigan lost. Time to give someone else a shot.

Well, the early returns at the ESPN poll have Michigan 58% with 95,000 votes.

And interestingly Ohio is voting for Florida, guess they think Michigan is the better team too.

Before I confuse anyone, it’s just a random public poll,in case it looks like I’m talking about the real polls

Doesn’t matter. I think they’re the better team and were home-field advantage away from winning it against Ohio. I simply think Ohio and Michigan are the two best teams in college football, and it makes absolutely no difference to me whether they played before in the regular season or not. I simply want the two best teams to play.

Yeah, but most of you guys would rather take an icepick to the kidney than give the SEC props.

Well, ya know, being a Midwesterner and all, and having attended a Big 10 school, I’m kind of required to do so.

Truth be told, I wouldn’t be surprised if Florida does get the nod from the computers. Their schedule seems to have been a bit tougher than Michigan’s, although Michigan scored some big wins with a clear victory over then-number 2 Notre Dame, and a close loss to number 1 Ohio. I certainly won’t be pissed if it’s Ohio v. Florida, but I’d rather see Ohio v. Michigan just because it was such a fun game last time around.

Or maybe they think replaying a team they already beat would be a waste of time. I happen to agree.

They’re a better team based on … what, exactly? Their non-victory? Their inability to hold OSU below 40 points? Their giving up of TWO 50-yard-plus touchdown runs, and 300 yards passing?

We have two teams with one loss in contention for the NC game. Michigan has already lost to the last major undefeated school, Ohio State. Florida has not. There is no evidence to indicate Ohio State would beat Florida unless and until they play each other. The exact opposite is true of Michigan. You don’t lose your biggest game of the year and console yourself that you’re “probably still a better team.” You had your chance to prove it on the field. Michigan couldn’t.

Florida bumbled, fumbled and magooed their way to the SEC title.Never seen a team so excited about a 33 yard field goal in the 1st quarter. If the BCS doesnt award Michigan a title shot, they might as well give Boise State a chance.

looks at location, disregards post

I’m really in Idaho.

For what it’s worth, I agree with this 100%.

Oh, horseshit. It should be OSU and UM for the title. I’ll offer a few opinions, take 'em or leave 'em.

First, I’m a UW fan in everything but hockey. (Go Sioux!) When UM and OSU played, I was hoping for a tie. Didn’t want either to win, hoped both would somehow lose.

Second, all season UM and OSU were 1-2 with maybe a half-dozen teams nipping at their heels. How does being in the same conference exclude either one? They actually played each other, and it was a good game. SEC fans, keep this in mind.

OSU is ranked #1, UM is ranked #2. Forget any nostalgia, sympathy, etc about a previous coach dying. We’re talking about the teams on the field this year. The #2 teams goes on the road to the Horseshoe and loses to the #1 team by 3 points.

The home team in most cases is spotted 3 points right out of the gate. Granted, the betting line shouldn’t be a factor in determining a national champion, but it’s something to think about. Comparing teams, if OSU is the undisputed #1 team, the team that loses by 3 in their stadium should get a little recognition.

I still have Friday’s sports section in which the vast majority of writers were laying the mortar in cementing an OSU-USC title game. Now Florida is in the mix? Seriously?

What about that upstart team that had one loss? By 3 points? To the #1 team? On the road?

Yes, I’m hoping for an OSU-UM rematch. Yes, I’m still hoping they somehow both lose. Yes, I am guaranteed to be disappointed no matter what happens. sigh

Actually, there’s something to this. I’m a Michigan Stater but I’d rather see the hated Wolverines go than the Gators. To me, the Big Ten is the undisputed king of all conferences and SEC stands for Schedule Easy Competition. At least Michigan’s foes were all 1-A teams, unlike Florida’s patsy, Western Carolina. Many of the SEC teams play inferior non-conference games. Michigan at least pasted the crap out of Notre Dame in South Bend and played the number one team within three points at their stadium the day after the death of their most legendary coach.

Vanderbilt, Central Michigan, and Ball State are 1-A?

If you can’t even win your own conference, you shouldn’t be able to play for the national title.
