Michigan-WFT?

No one is mentioning Charlie Weis?

I see Brandon taking great efforts to bring Michigan back to its tradtional roots-- going after a “Michigan Man.” Obviously, the first choice would be Harbaugh, but the Free Press is reportingthat a source close to Harbaugh says he ain’t going to UM. Les Miles is a tricky situation, and I’m not sure we’re any likelier to get him now than we were three years ago.

That leaves Brady Hoke. Plus Brady Hoke fits in nicely with the tradtion of UM coaches with long "O"s in their name-- “Bo,” “Mo,” “Llo.” Now “Ho.”

“Ro” just never worked right.

Why would they? He’s a terrible college coach. He failed at Notre Dame, not sure why he wouldn’t fail at Michigan. Plus, that would be a slap at Michigan’s fans, I would think. “Hey, he stunk at ND, but he’ll be great here.”

You mean the coach who has already been linked with UF, to be their OC, where his son will be part of the coaching staff next year?

PTI on ESPN just reported that Michigan is saying Rich Rod hasn’t been fired yet.

ETA: Channel 4 in Detroit says it’s not final yet either.

ETA2: I drive by Schembechler hall on the way home. All the Detroit station, and one from Toledo, were parked out front.

My take: He’s been fired, but the university is waiting to tell the players. There was supposed to be a team meeting tonight at 7p, but that got postponed until tomorrow-- probably some of the players hadn’t yet made it back to campus after Christmas break.

Either that or Dave Brandon wants to announce Rod’s replacement in the same breath he announces his firing, and the replacement’s ducks weren’t yet all in a row due to the fact the replacement was still in Miami after playing in a bowl game the night before.

Wispy Falcon Tits?

Some pretty crappy reporting from Detroit’s channel 2 (surprise, surprise, a Fox affiliate). They reported a meeting as having happened before it occured, and reported a decision that had not officially been made.

Personally as a Spartan and as a parent of a Wolverine, I’d like Michigan to succeed (but not as much as MSU). Rich Rod was never the right man for this job and never would be. I don’t think he has the personal character that should represent the state or the university and I’ll be more than happy to see him go. They about ran Lloyd Carr out of town but Carr had more integrity in his little finger than Rodriguez does in his whole body.

CNN is reporting that Les Miles has turned UM down, again. Heh.

As an Auburn fan, I’m glad to see that. Watching the Mad Hatter is fun, and with him at LSU we get to see him almost weekly on one station or another.

Brady Hoke is now the new head coach of the University of Michigan’s football team.

Are there any other kind of falcon tits?

Oh boy, Michigan fans - get ready for more servings of Jason Whitlock than you could possibly want. He’s a former Ball State player, and will most likely have tons and tons to say and write and talk about regarding Michigan football now. Enjoy!

You’re late.

As a Buckeye fan, I was hoping for the Les Miles comedy hour, but this will have to do. I do think Brady was the best possible hire after Harbaugh turned them down, and I hope Michigan returns to competitiveness soon. I sense a lot of “Brady Choke” jokes if he goes down the path that RichRod did, though.

Well I didn’t like Miles three years ago and didn’t like him now. Harbaugh would have been a good coach, but you knew he was looking to the NFL primarily no matter what.

I don’t have an opinion of Hoke really, the portolio doesn’t have enough substance yet, but I think he is the best of all the realistic coaching options.
But, can you recruit in the big Ten without a name, and can you make a name without recruits? I guess we will see.

It begins! As someone who hates both Whitlock and the Wolverines, I couldn’t be happier for both parties. It’s not quite as good as Michigan possibly keeping Rich Rod around another year (why couldn’t you have won that bowl game!?), but it’s pretty good.

It all comes down to Ohio. Can Brady recruit in Ohio?

When Michigan picked a guy off the Miami of Ohio campus a few years ago, many fans said Bo who? That worked out pretty well
. Harbaugh may be a big bust , you never know. Spurrier made the pro move and blew up. But they made a hell of a lot of money.
Hoke may turn out to be an inspired choice. If he uses Denard properly, he will have a good offense for a while. It is hoped he can build a defense. At Michigan he is starting with a terrible defense.
Whet kind of offense does Hoke use?
Rich Rod drove a terrific Qb away and several important recruits left. They did not fit his scheme. He could have built an offense around the players he had and slowly changed the offense to his type. I hope Hoke is smarter than that.
