Michiganders

How many dopers are there in Eastern Michigan, specifically near the Flint and Detroit areas?

bamf

seriously?
ok, forgive the silly question, but how’d you find out so quickly?

bamf

No, it’s six. That other guy - the one with the unusual tattoo?

He died.

. . . sneaking back in sheepishly. . .

Okay, I’ll relent. There’s more than seven. If I recall correctly, there was a thread recently asking SE Michigan dopers to self-identify, but I can’t seem to put together the right search to find it.

I have no idea how many there might be, but if I were to make a wager, I’d actually take the “over,” if seven is the number. This despite my living mere moments from south-east Michigan. Sylvania, Ohio tucks right up against the Michigan border, 40 miles due south of Ann Arbor.

Uh, bumf?

I’m not saying this in any way to be harsh, jus’ pointin’ out the facts, but there was a gal/member from Flint (Persephone) who died recently.

Yes, there was a recent thread.

There was also a SE Michigan doper who died recently. :frowning:

Some people got together in Detroit on May 8th, Greektown I think it was, but I couldn’t make it.

Well, jinx, I guess.

I thought Banff was in Canada. But, anyway, what’s good for the Michigoose is…

See, that’s precisely why we should be Michiganians, duh. Unless we can get everyone to say it, like Canadian geese, we’ll just claim a migratory waterfowl of our very own, then it’d be a’ight.

Isn’t bamf the sound effect Nightcrawler from XMen makes when he…well, bamfs?

I did live in Canton, about halfway between Ann Arbor and Detroit. Then I moved to Colorado. I highly recommend it.

Recommend what? Living in Canton, or moving to Colorado?

I live in SE Michigan, in Detroit’s western suburbs.

My god, I feel terrible. I am very, very sorry if I’ve added to anyone’s pain over her loss. I remember the outpouring of grief and affection when she died; I cannot imagine what I was thinking when I posted my lame joke.

I did live in Colorado, Boulder area. Then I moved to Michigan. I highly recommend it.

This is a very kind apology–and please don’t feel too badly.

Frankly, that is precisely the sort of thing I would say, to my later mortification.
