I’ve been watching a retrospective on The Monkees, in the wake of Davy Jones’ death, and I couldn’t heklp noticing that Mickey Dolenz (who has gotten back into acting) could play Newt Gingrich without a lot of makeup.

Mickey:
The hell you say!
(Though Mickey really should have kept the beard.)
I’m not seeing it.
well he started acting being in a circus role and he still would be here.
I saw him onstage in Elton John and Tim Rice’s Aida, and he looked positively Newtonian.
I don’t see even a remote resemblance. Other than they’re both humanoid.
Blasphemy!
I don’t see it at all, either.
[nitpick]
What with all these threads in the wake of Davy’s death, I feel obligated to point out in this one that Micky Dolenz doesn’t spell his first name like Disney’s famous rodent.
[/nitpick]
You know, I think Newt could do a mean version of “Goin’ Down”.
Nah. If, for some reason, there’s ever a Newt Gingrich movie, he’ll be played by Phillip Seymour Hoffman. There’s no way around it.
“She turned him into a Newt!”
I could see the resemblance pretty clearly, watching the documentary yesterday. It was mainly when I saw Dolenz from the side. But I couldn’t find side views of Dolenz and Gingrich.
If Newt Gingrich looked like Micky Dolenz looks in that first linked picture, I would at least understand why women would sleep with him.
I can see that,
what about Rick Zsantorum and Bashad Assad (syrian dictator)? :dubious::eek:
Not seeing it.
