Microsoft Outlook/Express Question

I use Outlook 2000 and/or Outlook Express 6.0 to read my mail.

Does Outlook 2002, or any other mail reading program, allow you to minimize it to the system tray (by the clock)?

And also have that icon in the system tray tell you when you have new mail?
Thanks!

I don’t know of a way you can squish the whole thing down into the notification area. I think it’s gonna stay in the taskbar while running.

But you can certainly have a little envelope displayed when you recive mail. - Tools - Options - Preferences - E-Mail Options - Advanced Options and “show an envelope icon in the system tray”.

For Outlook 2002 (XP):

  1. Open Regedit.
  2. Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\10.0\Outlook\Preferences
  3. Add a new DWORD value and name it MinToTray
    Set it equal to 1.
  4. Restart Outlook, it should now minimize to the tray.
