Satisfied that the plans and interrogations are going well, Deor’s going back to bed, taking Uncle Aldor’s letters with him.
I had emailed a map of Gondor and Mordor at one point. If you can find it, look in Anórien. There is a beacon (Erelas) shown in the mountain to the NW of the second O in Gondor. The beacon is only about 7 miles from where you are. That would take less than 20 minutes for Gilraen or Gil-Gandel.
Brownie has no reasonable way to find the **Beacon **and communicate that he has a message and the Hawks have no reasonable way to deliver a message to anyone in Minas Tirith. I don’t think bird messengers are going to work. You have an Elf with a very fast horse and a Half-Elf with a very fast horse. You can either send word back to the city or to the beacon. The beacon is not very far at all.
If anyone needs the map, Email me and I will send it again. In fact now I have added a scale.

I will go to the beacon. I have many more years of experience than our healer.
Gilraen suggest you bring Thoroncir’s letter and she stamps a small seal on it and co-signs it.
Does the party do anything else or wait for the beacon guards to return?
If all of the prisoners and their possessions have been thoroughly gone through, Elfstan will try to get a little sleep if not needed on watch. He will help Thoroncir with his keen ears if needed. Otherwise his plan is get some rest and then rise again early to get breakfast going for the rest of the party members who are going through a long night.
Ghân’s going to sleep. Spells to load in the morning!
DM, how do I put Entangle back into the Spellstone?
All it takes is basically casting it into the Stone instead of on a target. You can do it before going to sleep.
Any descendant of Samwise Gamgee can be relied on for victualling in the great outdoors. “Smoke me a kipper, I’ll be back for breakfast”
Ghân will cast Entangle then. (Please assume that he will keep the Stone fully stocked whenever possible.)
Ghân looks puzzled. “I don’t smoke that pipeweed stuff - but how do you get a kipper in the pipe?”
With the prisoners secure and the watch reestablished, Thoroncir wishes Gil-Gandel well, thanks him for his willingness to ride off with the message, and will get a little more sleep if he is able.
Gil-Gandel makes it to the Beacon in excellent time. He explains the situation and hands over the sealed letter. In about 10 minutes they are ready to send out 2 men to raise a small support group.
The Beacon-warder requests that Malacandra returns and stokes up the fire to something large and that by dawn, a small troop will arrive to help and sort things out.
At about 4am one of the Brigands screams out in his sleep. Gil-Gandel, Thoroncir and 3 Dwarves are on watch. A Dwarf wanders over, nudges him and tells him to be quiet and get some sleep. A nearby brigand grabs for the dwarf having slipped his bounds. The dwarf smashes down with his mallet and then a second time. He then hits the screams in the head. A crunching noise is heard. He says, “Anyone else act up and I will kill all of you without waiting for the King’s men.”
A sudden and probable fatal violence leaves the camp awake and very disturbed.
Mulligan will go round and check all the bonds are secure.
Along the lines of if it doesn’t hurt, its probably not tight enough.
Bereft of anything better to do, Miron will happily string his bow and stand behind Mulligan within the bandits’ eyeline, trying his best to look menacing as the hobbit checks everyone’s bindings.
[quietly]Easy there, Took - in the name of your noble kinsman and his ill-treatment not too far from here.[/quietly]
“Let no-one else attempt anything rash, lest worse than justice befall you.”
Check up on that “probably fatal”, and stand down the dwarf in question: “You have done your duty, and it is not fair that more blood should be on your hands for now, should the prisoners be slow learners.” And have water brought for the prisoners as it is starting to get light.
The Dwarf in question is Tumin. Gil-Gandel is no expert, but he would suspect two things. Tumin is both very young and looks shaken. It might be the first blood he spilled.
The prisoners look bad. The one that screamed is unconscious and bleeding a bit about the scalp. He is breathing but a bit raspy. The other that attacked Tumin is not breathing.
Ghân, Renee, if you please…
Thoroncir will stand a very careful watch over the healers as they go about their life-saving work.
Provided he’s had enough sleep to recover his spells, Ghân will use Cure Light Wounds.
If not, he will use Goodberries (and herbal cures if necessary).
DM, if I’m slow to respond*, please assume that provided I’m not in danger, Gil-Gandel (or Thoroncir) can state they ask Ghân to cure and he will promptly do so.
*I just spent 10 straight hours  winning my first Colonization game
Renee assists Ghân in the curelight. Her spell points are not fully recovered yet. Using the curelight and herbs, the prisoner is resting better and sleeping.
The rest of the night is peaceful thought several of the dwarves dig a grave for the dead prisoner.
A troop of 16 locals led by the Beacon-Warden ride up at 7am. They will take charge of let you get on your way if you like. They just need a little more information first. All could be done in about an hour.
