There are probably plenty of people in Minas Tirith who can hold it in trust for you, if needs be, given your actions over the last few days.
Who knows, we may even wind up going in that direction after this is over.

Ghân says that the mood of the party is to give items to those who can use them, Of course the party will learn more if they make it back and can then discuss things further.
He has hopes that the Staff could perhaps aid healing
, and maybe the necklace, pouch or belt will be of interest…
Thoroncir says, “Perhaps Gil-Gandel, our captain wise and good, might propose a fair split of the spoils, and then each of the party may respond in good faith as to whether he approves, and otherwise what alterations he would amicably suggest?”
Put a tenth of the pot into the healing fund. Divide all special items into separate lots once their function is known. Divide the remainder of the money into equal shares. Let each person deeming himself to have a claim on a special item explain why it will be of use to him. Let those to whom no special item falls be deemed to have prior claim on such items in future hoards. However, I have no interest in book-keeping.
So the now enormous party heads back to Minas Tirith.
Caramir discusses along the way, “I will seek permission to leads several scouting parties to the Dead Marshes or Ered Lithui. Your group worked so well together, I thought perhaps I might be able to engage your services. This is very preliminary and obviously I hope to get more information before we set out and All details need to be worked out. Are you interested?”
On the way back, Deor & Folca spot a wolf in a trap not to far off the road.
The Goblin females and runts are marching in agony, the sun causing them great distress. The Uruk-Hai had to be trussed like a sack and gagged to carried back. The two orcs march dejectedly, surprised by the turn of events but daring not to hope.
Brin’s face turns pale. “I do not know about facing the living dead in the Marshes. I would rather not find that the stories the elders scared the children with are real, and I suspect they are (I’ll believe anything after talking to a Moose, even trees that walk). While not like the hills and mountains of my home, I’d feel more comfortable in Ered Lithui.”
I would be honored to help out on these missions Caramir. If Gimli has no need of me at this time, I would be glad to rejoin the party on a further adventure. In truth it has been a long while since I have been able to go adventuring, not since the war, and I must say I have missed it.
A wolf’s as good as a dog, if Ghan can befriend it. Would be a heck of an addition to the party if we could swing it. Besides, the kind of person who’d set a wolf trap probably wants to a) kill it, not out of malice but to keep it away from livestock or b) corrupt it for some evil purpose. Pass this on to Ghan.
EDIT: Is the wolf badly hurt?
Caramir says to Brin, “You are right to fear such, I have no love of the idea myself. I am more comfortable with the idea of Ered Lithui myself. If they must scout the Marshes, I do not know if I am ready for such a challenge, I do know the stories do not lie.”
Merry confirms this, “I heard it directly from Samwise and even Strider mentioned it once.” (Not that Brin knows who Strider is.)
Gimli to Gwaelur, “Aye, you have my leave, I am sorry business and details will keep me from helping out, but if I can make the time and a certain Elf Prince is willing, you might yet see me again in your adventures. I am honestly more directly concerned about the talk of big things in the North.”
Caramir to Gwaelur, “Thank you my good Dwarf, you would be a mighty veteran to support this group. I was most impressed with your fighting abilities.”
**Deor ** won’t know for sure how badly the wolf is until it is approached and I strongly recommned you leave that to the expert.
Ghân is delighted to be asked (and is very keen if the rest of the party are), but knows little of the Dead Marshes. A former battlefield?
He reminds the party he has little power over Undead and that even a junior cleric can do more against such monsters than he can.
Ghân was asking if anyone can cast a Darkness spell for the Goblins, when he hears about the wolf from Deor.
Thanking his fellow caster, he asks Thoroncir to guard his back, casts Speak to Animals and hurries over to the Wolf. Mindful of trickery, he waits to hear if the victim replies in Wolf before approaching too closely…
Oh, believe me, I wouldn’t get any nearer a wounded, trapped wolf than absolutely necessary.
Send Folca over near Ghan to keep an eye out for traps.
The Wolf replies to Ghân, “Can you help me, I was careless and if I move, I might lose my paw.”
Ghân replies “I can free you and heal you too. But you have to trust me. I probably need to get one of my two-legged friends to help me release you.”
He shrugs and adds “If I get you out of this, could I talk to you some more?”
Brownie probably wakes up and flies into a tree around this point…
Ghân inspects the trap. If he needs help, he’ll ask Thoroncir.
Thoroncir says to Prince Caramir, “My lord, I would be glad to assist you on any expedition you wish, if the Lord Commander of my Order grants me leave, as I am sure he will when asked. For my own part, I confess I would prefer a venture to Ered Lithui, steeped in evil though it is by all accounts. I might further suggest that a detachment of Elves would be best suited to explore the Dead Marshes, as the undead and their ilk hold little fear for Elvenkind.”
He then accompanies Ghan to have a look at the Wolf, and will be ready for any treachery or sudden attack.
It strikes me that it’s perhaps too soon to meet the King, after just our first mission together. Perhaps that would be something to look forward to after another adventure or three? Just my two cents’ worth.
If we do meet the King… someone asked about protocol earlier. The Professor didn’t go in for frippery in titles (“Your Majesty” wasn’t adopted in England until Henry VIII split from Rome, anyway); “My lord” and “O King” were about as pompous as anyone ever got in the presence of a LOTR monarch.
The Wolf in woof of course, "I will allow your friend to help, I have little choice, I also don’t think I will be going very far until you heal me. I know this is not trick as in my current predictiment you could easily kill me from a distance and if you were the actual trapper and yet could talk to me; you would know that I would recognize your smell from the trap. Now could you please hurry, this hurts?”
Caramir to Thoroncir, “I thank you and it should be no problem get you a detached duty. I have some pull with both your lord and Theogrim’s. As to the Marshes, I too fear them, but it has rarely been my experience you can just raise a company of elves to do such work. Our best bet would be to appeal to Legolas or the Brethren of Rivendell and even with that, I would not be sure. Do not fear, I will hold none of you to go to the Dead Marshes. I doubt the Uruk-Hai could work out of there unless they had some powerful sorcerer or necromancer leading them. If so, the Dead would be the least of our worried. I expect we will be heading for Ered Lithui.”
Thoroncir gently pries open the trap. Ghân immediately staunches the bleeding and checks the wound cleaning it and tell the wolf to remain calm. The wolf is shivering but you notice he appears to a large lean male and probably quite healthy if not for the leg trap. The trap appears to be rusty and quite old. It may have layed here for months or even years. You know what you need to do to help him and prevent infections.
Deor of course cautiously approaches to see what you are doing.
You heal the wolf 4 points and he is in much better shape but should stay off the paw for a while.
Jari suggests, “My pony is quite docile and strong, the wolf is no more than half my weight, I am willing to walk the miles and the men can lift the wolf up on the pony. Tell him to be gentle and careful and the pony will plod smoothly. I still owe you for the aid you rendered us all earlier.”
(Please continue your conversation with the wolf)
First, to be fair, I only had one herbal cure left, so could only do First Aid, plus 2hp.
Next, Deor is always welcome to watch.
I thank Thoroncir and Jari and cast Speak Animals on the pony to make sure he’s prepared to carry a Wolf. I explain that the Wolf is under my control (hopefully he is!)…
then to the Wolf “I am Ghân, a friend to all animals. I can talk to any of them.
You have already seen and smelt my flying companion. I travel the lands with my two-legged friends and have adventures - often with fighting. We are always well-fed and you know that I can also cure.
I invite you to join me as my bodyguard.
I promise to feed you and heal you. You promise to help me - but not risking your life (unless you want to!).
If you are willing, then I can make magic that binds us together. What say you?”
If he starts thinking, mutter to Thoroncir what is happening.
If he agrees, cast Animal Friendship. And ask him what happened to his wolf-pack.
If he turns me down, I find a place of concealment for him, get him off the pony and wish him well.
Ghân thanks you for the help and continues
"If you prefer the Ered Lithui, then he prefers them too.
Mind you, you are unlucky in one respect. Since we met (a good day
), we have travelled through forest, slope and cavern. Now we have the choice between mountain or marsh. I look forward to the day you ride into battle, but it seems that day is far off…
"
He appears to be thinking about, “You would welcome me into your pack?”
“I would. Let me inform the others” … Ghân checks that the party are happy with a Wolf bodyguard for the casters. If they are, he asks if they would form a semi-circle around the Wolf as a sort of pack welcome…
The party is willing, though Gwaelur finds this odd as does Theogrim.
Theogrim to Deor, “So you say a wolf and a dog are pretty much the same thing? What other odd things did that Wizard teach you?”
