Middle Earth FA63 D&D Game, the Second Adventure, Scouting Ered Lithui

Linky no worky, but I found the new thread on my own anyway.

The marching order and watch schedule sounds good - many thanks, Malacandra!

Weird the link aquired a stray %20, I have seen that happen at least one other time.
The link I posted was http://%20boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?p=9893437#post9893437

Indeed, we’re ready to help guard the Big Folk. I don’t want to overload my pack, but I’ll make sure to grab some extra taters from Ghan’s garden if any are left.

Off to the new thread…

In a quiet moment before the party sets forth on its next adventure, Thoroncir asks to see Renee in the tent which Prince Caramir’s men have pitched for her.

One Elfstan Fairbairns however chances to overhear the exchange within.

When they are alone, he drops to one knee, holds up his Numenorean sword in both hands and bows his head. “My lady, I humbly ask that you pronounce a blessing of Estë upon this sword, and sanctify it with a kiss, that I might better wield it for your protection and for the good of Gondor. Please, will you grant me these favors?”

She looks a little nervous and gets a slightly odd look, but she honors you request. She says a pray and blessing on the sword to help the sword protect Thoroncir and Gondor.

She then merrily says, “I suppose this makes you my champion” and she takes of her white scarf and wraps it around the scabbard. This will of course work better on your lance or pommel, but I hear we will be marching and not riding."

Why do I always have to march with that horrible dog!

Just wanted to get that in before I left. Off to the new thread!

ETA in responce to What Exit’s latest post: OOOOOHHHHHHH! You go Thor!

Thoroncir beams, thanks Renee for her kind words, and with a bow withdraws to prepare for the march. The other members of the party soon notice that he seems unusually happy that day.

I’d sent that as an email to our GM, and didn’t know it’d end up here! But no worries. I’m glad he replied as he did (with the text beginning “She looks a little nervous…”), even if he did add an eavesdropping hobbit. Thanks, What Exit?!

He wasn’t eavesdropping, he just has very keen ears and the insatiable curiosity of a young Hobbit and of course was by mere chance in the wrong place* at the right time for the Ref to play it out in thread, instead of offline.

  • It was between the two Hobbits, the new Polecat or perhaps Gil-Gandel who probably has the sharpest ears of all.

In the words of Samwise, “I ain’t been dropping no eaves, sir, honest!”

Don’t worry, I won’t do anything… unnatural to you.

What happens in Ered Lithui stays in Ered Lithui.

Considering that Elfstan is an adolescent Hobbit, I’m getting a little creeped out now!

Poor Miron, this is going to shatter all his romantic fantasies about adventuring… and right on the tail of a stay in Minas Tirith…
