Miron will try his best to stop Hodwain’s bleeding and stabilize him, calling over his shoulder “Renee, how’s your patient?”
If Swift Wing is within hearing range Miron will instruct the goshawk to do a quick circle at altitude, looking for any baddies within a few miles of the party.
GM, I seem to remember Miron possessing two herbs that can be made into pretty strong healing potions. How long would it take him to actually prepare the draughts?
Gil-Gandel takes the oil and wood and blocks the helpful Humans and Hobbits from getting too close to the vampire. Especially the human with the open wounds that needs attention.
Thoroncir is actually feeling weak, very weak, but at least you are not bleeding.
Gwaelur, despite not going down, you seem to be bleeding, you may need to ask for help. You feel strange, almost, well you think, it is probably the term, weak.
Miron, you are finding the Hodwain is bleeding and the wounds look bad. You are not sure, but the wounds appear to need cleaning and then some form of packing and binding. You can prep your herbs in 5-15 minutes usually. In fact Renee is planning similar preparation.
Renee casts cure light on Riglo and is checking him out.
Gil-Gandel gets a good fire going and backs the party away.
Brin sees to start helping Gwaelur.
Swift Wing takes to the air again.
Renee calls Deor over to help her. She looks very nervous. “Ghân, can you get these Athelas seeds to grow, I will need fresh leaves. I will start with what I have in my pouch.” She appears very shaken.
Since Hodwain isn’t dead Miron will prioritize stabilizing him, so absent any requests for help he will proceed to clean, pack, and bandage the non-superficial wounds. Once Hodwain is (reasonably) stable, he’ll try to make as many healing potions as possible from the herbs he has at hand.
Assuming nobody is in the process of dying horribly, however, he’ll refrain from administering them until he and Renee have had a chance to triage the injured party members and confirm that Hodwain and Riglo are, in fact, in the most immediate need of healing.
I doubt he’ll have time while treating Hodwain, but Miron will try to keep an eye on Renee while he’s working. He suspects that she’s the least experienced member of the group, and since she’s our most powerful healer, he is more than a little worried about her reacting badly to the pressure.
Thoroncir is glad to let Gil-Gandel burn the vampire’s corpse, and staggers over to rest under the tree with Gwaelur until both can be healed. He will eat some food from his haversack, drink some water, and offer Gwaelur the same.
I think I will reset the original fire, and start boiling some water for steeping herbs in and cooking some hot food again because I think some people are going to need it.
With the vampire corpse roasting away, Elfstan volunteers to help any of the healers if needed. If not, he will help Mulligan get refreshments prepared. He takes frequent glances at Sting to make sure no remaining orcs catch us in unawares.
“Help Renee,” Miron comments over his shoulder, his gaze still glued on his current patient. “I think I can handle Hodwain’s injuries myself, but it looked like Riglo is in much worse shape.”
Ghân tells Renee, “I don’t have Plant Growth currently, but I can cast 3 more Cure lights and four Neutralize Poisons.”
Renee, “I think the Neutralize Poisons can only help. We’ll work together and start with Riglo, then Hodwain, then Thoroncir and finally Gwaelur. It looks like Brin can’t stay his bleeding and he never went down and has a remarkable constitution even for one of Durin’s Folk.”
She carefully uses her small store of Athelas. She starts out nervously and is reciting many old adages in both Westron and Sindarin but once she gets going, she gets very serious and looks remarkably competent for such a young woman. The smell of the brewing Athelas and her soft singing along with Mulligan’s impromptu stew simmering raise the spirits of all the camp.
Both Renee and Ghân casts Cure lights on him and Ghân casts a Neutralize Poison. She often has her bauble out and it brings a bright light on the wounds. Riglo is only down 59 when they finish the initial work.
Hodwain has bled to bring him down by 33. Ghân casts a Neutralize Poison and Renee casts her double strength Cure lights and they work with Miron to fully clean and pack the wounds. He is down by 19 and Renee says, Hodwain appears to be a quick healer now that we have the foulness out of his wounds. Hodwain will remain in bear form for now.
Thoroncir is shorter work; he was not bleeding as he had an early cure light by Ghân. They clean his two wounds, partially reopening one. Ghân casts a Neutralize Poison and Ghân a second Cure lights. Thoroncir is down only 5 and may be able to eat some berries. Please check and remember 8 is the max for the day.
Finally they get to Gwaelur. He bled a little despite Brin’s best efforts and is down 37. Renee says he is not poisoned and has resisted the vampire’s foulness. They each use a Cure light on him and use salves as they bind his wounds. He is down 11 and may be able to eat some berries. Please check and remember 8 is the max for the day.
Renee then returns to work on Riglo some more. She casts her final Cure light on him to get him to 47 down.
If everyone’s bleeding has stopped, Miron will take a short break to prepare as many healing potions as he can from the ingredients he has at hand. He won’t, however, move to immediately distribute them: if everyone is stable, he would prefer to keep them at hand in case sudden combat necessitates a quick recovery by one or more of our injured members.
#947 was the post I was thinking of, where he took 5 points during the Crebain rush. Should we just assume that he took three of Ghan’s berries between rounds?
