Middle Earth FA63 D&D Game, Third Adventure, Ered Lithui Mystery Creature

The Spellcasters are exhausted. Especially Renee. Riglo and Hodwain could use a lot more rest. This might be a good place to stay.

Then let us stay here. Can Folca be sent up to scout for other foes, and to see how far off our Gondorian cavalry reinforcements are?

I don’t believe Swift Wing was dispatched with our message, but Miron would be happy to send him now that the immediate threat seems to have gone.

She’s already up, and will let you know. Actually, I’d like to give her a rest for an hour or so; she’s been up for several hours. If Brownie could cover for an hour or so at some point, it’d be a great help.

And off she goes with updated information. Hopefully reinforcement can be here before nightfall.

Meanwhile, Renee takes a long nap, try not to wake her up. Deor and Ghân might wish to do the same.

Indeed. Miron is fairly well-rested and unharmed, so he will happily volunteer to take the watch of anyone who needs the rest.

Yep. Deor will take a nap now, hoping that this adventure is mostly over.

Can Folca wake me up if she needs or sees anything? It seems like she has that kind of power, or at least that I’m pretty well tuned to her vocalizations, so I’m assuming that she can take a watch while I sleep and et my attention if need be.

Omi, Swift Wing flew off with Thoroncir’s message for Prince Caramir in post 887.

Thoroncir, still wounded, will rest near Renee, his weapons close at hand.

Ahh, thanks. Somehow I got confused and thought we’d delayed his launch when the fog rolled in.

This time he is off with better instructions on location though.

I’m back. And it seems I have a lot to catch up with. Well done, all… it looks like I need to start versifying again as soon as the Muse will cooperate!
Yes, Miron, you and I can put off sleep until a more favourable hour.

looks distastefully in the direction of the burned corpse That was as fell a bane of Elves and Men alike as has trod the unhappy Earth in many ages of the world. We have done a mighty service to all our kinds.

tunes harp and sings of the Blessed Realm while the company rests

As the excitement and unease of battle fades it would appear that Miron’s well-honed sense of paranoia has begun to re-assert itself as, after a brief circuit of the camp to check each wounded party member’s status again, the elf deigns to carefully himself on the ground several meters away from the camp, presumably in an attempt to surprise any hypothetical enemies who might target the camp during his watch.

In spite of the leftover adrenaline in his system, Deor slips off to sleep with the help of Gil-Gandel’s song.

Sorry, my previous post got swallowed somewhere in the upgrade.

Ghân is happy to offer Brownie as a aerial guard, and Fang as a ground one.

Having cast his spells exactly as the DM described, he will prepare to rest and load Plant Growth as requested.

He has many Goodberries and about 40 Herbal Cures (2hp each) to offer.

He cheerfully reminds the party to check for treasure (and that we still have the stiff from the orc-king to evaluate), then nods off.

Methinks you’re missing a verb, friend Elf.

O mighty GM, I presume Swift Wing returned with the message taken by, but without a reply from, Prince Caramir?

Good point, I got lost on Swift Wing. Here is my correction.
Miron realizes that in the rush of the Crebain, he never read the message on Swift Wing’s return.

Gil-Gandel knows of Lady Elenwë. (please check for PMs Malacandra)

Well the verb was supposed to be “conceal”, so perhaps it was just being so sneaky that you missed it.

In any event, Miron obviously shares the message with the rest of the party before hiding nearby, having instructed Swift Wing to rest and (if he so desires) hunt in the area around the camp.

Thoroncir dozes off at last, his ears filled with Gil-Gandel’s beautiful and soothing music.

Welcome back, Malacandra!

Indeed I do, friends: an Elf-lady (I can hardly say “maid” of one who is senior enough to think me an adolescent) of great lineage and lore - and I would not much care to match bows with her, either. This is hardly to be wondered at, considering whose sister she is. Also I hope she will favour us with her song, and then you shall hear music worth the name.

Welcome back, Malacandra!

An excellent elf named Gil-Gandel
Was always prepared to stand all
His own watches and more
And since his aim was not poor
It was too much for enemies to handle :smack:

Can I also adjust my last post from “He cheerfully reminds the party to check for treasure (and that we still have the stiff from the orc-king…” to
“He cheerfully reminds the party to check for treasure (and that we still have the stuff from the orc-king…”

So that’s treasure, not bodies, OK?
