Some folks say this is Middle TN, others say East TN. We’re in EST, but you can throw a rock into CST. You can also throw a rock into GA, but I consider myself 100%Tennessean.
For those who didn’t see the other thread, I’ve also lived in Nashville, Knoxville, Oak Ridge, Dandridge, Sevierville, and Gatlinburg. Have we crossed paths?
Hi Jasper Kent! Welcome to the Straight Dope! I hope you connect to Tennessee Dopers, and with all of us!
This thread is fairly old, and some of the early posts talk about a Dopefest, or real-life gathering, which is long past (if it happened—I don’t know!). Anyway, it will probably cause some confusion if people start reading and think another gathering is being planned.
For that reason, I’m going to close the thread. Please don’t think you did anything wrong! You didn’t! It’s just that “zombies,” resurrected threads that have the potential to confuse people, are usually closed if they do just that. (Non-threatening zombies are usually left open.) 
Again — welcome, we’re very glad to have you. If you’d like to start a new thread in MPSIMS introducing yourself, that would be fine.
