Mike LaBlue's Family Died in a Fire - where?

A friend on Facebook posted this prayer request:

Curious about this story, I did a Google seach, which usually finds a new source’s story. Instead, all I found were similar or exact prayer requests in blogs, Twitter, and other message systems. Nowhere did I see a bone fide news story about this tragedy.

Awful as it sound, this story has “urban legend” written all over it: no specified city, no names of the children or wife, no direct friends, but a whole lot of exactly quoted prayer requests.

Does anybody have some valid references to this story actually happening?

I did a search on peoplefinders.com, and found two people with that name, one in Sacramento (37) and one in Orland (25) (both CA). If it’s legit, it might be one of those. If it’s legit.

Did you search on Snopes.com?

Hadn’t tried there, because one prayer request said “recently”. Should’ve thought that that “recently” could’ve been 30 years ago.

Searching Google Groups, I found this from May 12th

.

That’s all I gots for now

Sadly true, but with a different spelling of the name.

It is actually a real story. The postings on facebook incorrectly spell the familys name, here is a link to the news story:

Amy and Mike LeBleu both work for the D.O.C. in Louisiana. They lost all four of their daughters in a fire on May 11, 2010. RAGLEY, LA (KPLC) – Four little girls-- sisters-- are all dead after fire sweeps through a home in rural Beauregard Parish. It happened late last night. The coroner’s preliminary findings indicate they all died from inhaling lethal levels of carbon monoxide.

It’s at 920 Felice Cutoff Road in Ragley where Amy and Michael LeBleu lived with their five children. But a fire which erupted sometime around 10:30 at night has claimed the lives of four of those children. Dead are twin girls 11 year old Kamryn and Keiley LeBleu; eight year old Kassandra LeBleu and one year old Adrianna LeBleu. Their mother managed to escape with her three year old son Michael and tried unsuccessfully to rescue the others.

Unfortunately, it is true according to several news reports I found. Here is the link to one of them. http://www.kplctv.com/Global/story.asp?S=12470316
